Bhopal, March 26 (Ians) Indian shooter Sift Kaur Samra won a bronze medal in women’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) event on the final day of the International Shooting Sport Federation (Issf) Rifle/Pistol World Cup 2023 at the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy range, here on Sunday.
Sift, a medical student and the reigning national champion in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) won bronze — her first individual World Cup medal – after she shot 403.9 in the top-eight ranking round. China yet again won both the golds on offer on the day.
China ended the competition with eight golds, two silver and two bronze medals to top the competition while India were second and Germany third with one gold, one silver and one bronze each.
In the women’s 3P, the first medal event of the day, China’s Zhang Qiongyue defeated Aneta Brabcova of the Czech Republic 16-8 in the gold medal clash.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon. Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh, will be the Chief Guest at the ceremony, to be held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre. Luciano Rossi, President, International Shooting Sport Federation (Issf), who reached the city earlier in the day, will be the Guest of Honour. Also present will be Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Hon. New Delhi, Oct 19 (Ians) India’s Ramita was crowned world champion in the 10m Air Rifle Women Junior event, after she defeated China’s Ying Shen 16-12 in a close gold medal encounter at the International Shooting Sport Federation (Issf) World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, Egypt.
That performance and a 1-2-3 finish in the 50m Pistol Women Junior competition were the highlights for India on competition day seven at the Egypt International Olympic City (Eioc) Shooting Range, taking India’s tally to 25 medals including 10 gold, five silver and 10 bronze medals won so far.
