If I were asked to make a list of my favorite people, I'm sure Guillermo Del Toro would take up at least three or four spots on the list all by himself. Sure, he's an amazing visual artist, with a rich and detailed imagination that seems to have no limits in scope or variety, and that is something you have to value in an age where we finally have technology that can keep up with him. And, yes, I think he's got a wicked sense of humor that comes out only in the overtly comic moments in his movies but also in the way he plays things straight. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Or, as I like to say, if the story was a movie, no one would believe it because it’s so improbable.
Isn’t that kind of the case with Chad and Stephanie getting engaged and winning the eighth leg of The Amazing Race on the same day? If The Amazing Race was not a reality television show, we would roll our eyes and waive our hands because it was a lame ending. But, this is reality television and despite some deserved skepticism about how “reality” these shows are sometimes, we’re constantly reassured that nothing is manufactured.
Certainly the moment wasn’t manufactured. There’s almost no way for the producers to get Jill and Thomas to illegally pay a cab to let them follow it to the Pit Stop. However, I’m a bit skeptical about how the editing process went to...

Tom Cruise took a break from filming Wichita over the weekend and headed to Detroit to watch the Lions finally end their 19 game losing streak yesterday afternoon. His son Connor went along for the fun, checking out the football action as Tom mingled with fellow fans and signed autographs. Their family spent most of last week out and about in Boston, though Katie took off for La by Friday in order to launch her Holmes & Yang line at Maxfield.
