Miley Cyrus Tackles 'Babysitting' Sequel

Remember Adventures in Babysitting, the Chris Columbus teen comedy with Elisabeth Shue? Comic fans were most amused that one of her charges, Sara (Maia Brewton), wore Thor’s helmet throughout the film and Vincent D'Onofrio’s creepy character was nicknamed Thor.

The movie did well enough to spawn a short-lived television series and finally word is out that a sequel is being made.  The star will be Miley Cyrus, according to The Chicago Sun -Times, and the movie is slated for 2010. The Hannah Montana star will appear opposite fellow Disney headline Raven Symone with Tiffany Paulsen (Nancy Drew) at work on the script. …

Worst Idea Ever: Further Adventures in Babysitting Still Happening

In 2007, I told you about Disney’s plan to tant the memory of the now classic 1980’s teen adventure comedy Adventures in Babysitting by casting Raven Symone (That’s So Raven, The Cosby Show) in the part played by Elisabeth Shue in the original film. Nearly 20 months went by, which gave us a bit of false hope that the remake had fallen into development heck. Not the case. The Chicago Sun Times reports that Miley Cyrus is also set to star in the project, and will begin filming after she films a few more episodes of her Disney cable television show. Miley Cyrus is going from Hannah Montana to Babysitting. But she’s charging a lot more an hour than the going rate! She’s set to star in the remake of the 1987 classic Adventures in Babysitting. Fellow Disney star Raven Simone is also slated to star in the movie, which will be entitled Further Adventures in Babysitting. Tiffany Paulsen of Nancy Drew is the director. Blu-ray Review: College Road Trip

The Disney Raven-Symone/Martin Lawrence comedy College Road Trip made almost $45-million dollars at the box office during its release. While I know that this number shouldn't sicken me (the film stars a Disney Channel Favorite and was marketed directly to the pint-sized viewers who watch the Cable network religiously) for some reason it does all the same, the fact the Mouse House was able to bamboozle so many into believing this could be even remotely decent is depressingly incomprehensible. The simple fact is that I am not this picture's audience. Neither are parents. Nor are older siblings or pre-teen brothers and sisters. We will sit watching it as if stuck in purgatory, damned to 80-plus minutes of tired comedic shenanigans and decibel-screeching tomfoolery the likes of which are almost too horrific to even imagine. Who says that the Kardashian reign is over?  While there is no news about a renewal for the highly-successful Keeping Up with the Kardashians E! reality series, fans can still follow the life of socialite Kim Kardashian as she and her family gear up for another reality TV stint, this time on Family Feud.  It was a reunion for the stars of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as even step-dad Bruce Jenner joined in the fun.

"It was quite a contentious match, bringing out Bruce's famous competitive side! We all got really into it," Kim Kardashian wrote on her blog.
