- Born in Trenton, but grew up along the near-mythical Springsteen Jersey Shore... Point Pleasant. After graduating from Ithaca Film School, he moved to Los Angeles where he briefly worked for The Walter Partos Agency and Disney's product placement department as an intern before finding his near permanent home with Renaissance Pictures. In one way or another, he was worked for them since Darkman (1990). He's done work as a second-unit director for both Renassiance (Xena) and other Independent or up and coming filmmakers. His somewhat imposing personal style has gotten him more than a few roles as bad guys, bank robbers, mad biker-killers and other such fare in films and music videos. He has had a disturbing recurring role as a Death Metal High Priest, Wheatley (named after horror writer Dennis Wheatley) in Jim VanBebber's music videos for Death Metal band Necrophagia.
Pollison and his wife, Lisa Feerick Pollison are considered authorities on World Cinema, especially Asian & Scandinavian Film. He used his expertise in Hong Kong action films to good use during the development of the Xena and Hercules Televisions productions. The Hong Kong Origins of Xena's character and his involvement were written up in the official Xena Magazine.
Pollison was employed with Ghosthouse productions, working with Rob Tapert on films such as The Grudge and The Bogeyman. He then moved to Ghost House Underground , Ghost House Productions' independent releasing arm for DVDs, limited release films and streaming platforms. - Chose to Marry his wife, Lisa Feerick, three times over 6 months in order to meet the various State and Religious demands of their families and places of residence. They were married first in a Civil Ceremony on 6 December 1996, 2nd in a large Multi-Faith ceremony on 14 December 1996 where the Bride was given away by Comic Book Legend Gil Kane in Glendale CA, at the home of Actor R.A. Mihailoff and then for a 3rd time on 19 April 1997 in New York in a Catholic Ceremony. Mrs. Pollison had three different gowns, three wedding rings and three cakes. They celebrate all three anniversaries and remain the only couple in their circle of friends who have been married 3 times without a single divorce between them. Every now and then, they threaten to get married all over again when they encounter a friend or relative who missed one of the first three. Mrs. Pollison's 2 Couture gowns and original wedding suit were designed for her by Los Angeles Persian Designer, Farah Tassa, and have been displayed periodically in showings of the Fashion House's Wedding Designs.
- Is the nephew of Emmy Award-winning Saturday Night Live Director, Dave Wilson, who encouraged him to go to film School and enter the business. His cousin Tommy Wilson, Dave WIlson's son continues to work on SNL.
- Goes out of his way to collect the works of writers, Paulo Bacigalupi, Joe Hill, F. Paul Wilson, Ray Garton, Andrew Vacchs, Howard Waldrop and Joe R. Lansdale. He is considered an aficionado of modern crime fiction and modern supernatural fiction with specific expertise in Scandanavian, Dutch and Belgian Crime & Horror fiction.
