- Died instantly (aged 26) when her car collided head-on with one being driven by a 60-year-old man on the Princes Highway near Bateman's Bay. Slightly injured were a passenger in the man's car, as well as the driver of a semi-trailer truck, which ran into the two cars just after the collision. Plevnik had been awarded a Logie in 1980 as Australia's best new talent.
