Her first "Carry On..." film was Carry on Up the Jungle (1970) and her
last Carry on Matron (1972). She appeared in four "Carry On..." films
and is considered one of the minor regular "Carry On..." performers.
She became pregnant with her first son, Tim, during the filming of Carry on Matron (1972), in Autumn 1971. She jokingly blames the film for this.
At the start of her career she was a member of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Appeared in the West End in the plays The Secretary Bird and Big Bad Mouse and later toured the Far East with Terry Scott in A Bed Full of Foreigners. Has often played the Good Fairy in pantomimes.
