- J.P. Pinchon was born on April 17, 1871 in Noyon, Oise, Picardie, France. He was a director and writer, known for Bécassine (1940), Mon village (1920) and C'était écrit (1920). He died on June 20, 1953.
- French painter, drawer and press illustrator. His most famous creation is the character of Bécassine (created in 1905). He influenced lots of French and Belgian comics illustrators, including Hergé. He also was an art director for the Opera of Paris.
