It has been nearly seven years since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's big day, and now there's officially another royal wedding on the horizon: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged! The prince and the Suits star confirmed the news via Twitter on Monday, revealing that they became engaged earlier this month. There are many who will hope for the same kind of pomp and pageantry that we saw back in April 2011 when Harry and Meghan tie the knot, but we have a feeling it might not quite pan out that way for the royal and his future bride. What We Will See Meghan in a beautiful dress and Harry in his military uniform. When speaking of her Suits alter-ego Rachel's onscreen wedding dress, Meghan revealed, "I personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic. Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos are faves of mine for their uniqueness and beauty.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are engaged! While Clarence House confirmed that the pair are set to wed in Spring 2018, there are a few complexities when it comes to the big day.
Not since Edward VIII famously abdicated the throne to marry twice-divorced American Wallis Simpson in 1936 has an heir to the throne wed an American — and like Simpson, Markle is divorced. But a lot has changed in the decades since then, and Harry and Meghan are facing a far more relaxed monarchy. What’s more, their wedding won’t be a carbon copy of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s elaborate 2011 nuptials.

Over the past year, the British royal family has subtly but significantly changed before our eyes: the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have moved from their previous full-time base of Anmer Hall in Norfolk to Kensington Palace in London, they are adding to their family with a third baby, and William has given up his job as an air ambulance pilot; Prince Philip has retired; Prince Harry has gone public with the woman that many believe will soon become his wife; and William, Kate, and Harry have considerably increased their workloads. All these changes are slowly but surely paving a new path for the evolving royal family, but are some members seemingly being sidelined? As an increasing number of duties are split between the queen, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, William, Kate, and Harry, it inevitably means that the queen's other three children, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, along...

They have the longest royal marriage in history – and that’s because Queen Elizabeth, 91, and Prince Philip, 96, who celebrate the 70th anniversary of their engagement on July 10, have an ideal dynamic, says their biographer Gyles Brandreth.

There are always plenty of Christmas-music roundups this time of year. This one's different. The others usually focus on the newest offerings. Nothing I've gotten this year has really struck a chord, but there is no shortage of favorites from years past that have proven their merits and held up over time. It is those in the classical realm, where trends matter least; and choral, because it's sacred choir music that's at the heart of the celebration of Christmas, that are listed below.

In the wake of the terrible attacks in Paris, I found myself listening to a lot of French music and thinking about the Leonard Bernstein quote going around on Facebook: "This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before." Women swap skyscraper shoes for brogues and pumps as designers and style icons alike reject the agony of high heels
When actress Emma Thompson walked shoeless on to the stage at the Golden Globes, she confirmed what the rest of us have known for a while. Comfy shoes make sense. Clutching her Christian Louboutin heels in one hand – and a martini in the other – she joked that their trademark red soles were stained with her blood. "I've taken my heels off as a feminist statement really, because why do we wear them? They're so painful. And pointless, really."
With brogues and ballet shoes filling the fashion pages and shops, financial investors have started to take notice. Comfortable shoe brand Hotter, which started life as a slipper manufacturer, has just changed hands for £200m, while the Griggs family, which owned the Dr Martens brand for 50 years, has sold up to private equity giant Permira for £300m.

And now for great-granny! Baby Cambridge woke up in a palace Wednesday and soon afterwards had a visit from a queen. And not just any monarch - this was proud Queen Elizabeth, meeting her great-grandson and third in line to her throne. The visit, to Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, was the latest for Prince William and Kate's newborn son, following those of his grandparents, who saw him shortly before he left St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, west London, Tuesday. The Queen visited the cottage - the couple's temporary home while their main digs Apartment 1a are being renovated - for about half an hour.

It's been quite a month for Marvel Comics. Last weekend, they watched their beloved "Avengers" franchise provide the biggest opening weekend for a film in box office history. And this week, though with a little less fanfare, they rolled out an exclusive digital comics partnership with online comic distribution powerhouse, ComiXology, which only furthers their commitment to the digital medium.
Under the new deal Marvel's digital comics database, which includes thousands of past issues, will be powered and distributed exclusively by ComiXology's platforms and on their own Marvel app and online store. The move further positions ComiXology's as the dominant provider and distributor of digital comics, seeing as the company had already made a similar exclusivity deal with DC Comics last year.
