- 2000-2005 Had Announced more than 600 Championship Boxing Matches on ESPN's Friday Night Fights as original Color Commentator with Hall of Famer Colonel Bob Sheridan. Was a regular at all Boxing events in Las Vegas, NV., New York, NY and Atlantic City, NJ.
- As a 3 sport star, and winning 3 titles in his senior year, won Schools Best Athlete Award at Los Angeles Franklin High School in 1982.
- 1982-1991 - Former Baseball Star,Professional Tryouts and LA weekend instructional leagues signing with Los Angeles area scout teams of Houston Astros, San Francisco Giants, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins & Cincinnati Reds. Perez played briefly at Glendale Community College 1982, Cal-State Los Angeles 1983 and East Los Angeles Community College 1984 while attempting to go pro over the years. Had a brief run with Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs in the Minors. Also coached at his high school Franklin High School Los Angeles 1983-1989 and was Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Arleta High School in Los Angeles in 2011-2012.

- Family Connections: Actor Garrett Hedlund's brother is married to Actor Rich Perez's eldest Daughter. Also Jason Acuna better known as "Weeman" is a second cousin of Rich Perez. Rich's middle daughter along with her husband run Rocky Mountain Nationals Wrsteling tournaments, Youngest Daughter is all American USA former Oregon State Gymnast Risa Perez and he is a father of a lost USMC Marine in Iraq, Richard Perez Jr. 1985-2005.
