The Mediapro Studio will shoot from November Season 3 of “The Head,” its biggest international hit, filming in the Sahara Desert with John Lynch (“The Fall”) and Katharine O’Donnelly (“Mary Queen of Scots), attached once more to star.
Olivia Morris also returns to her role as Rachel Russo, the morally conscionable daughter of ambition-crazed biologist Arthur Wilde, played by Lynch.
“The Head” Season 1 took place at an Antarctic research station cut off in winter, Season 2 on a hulking freighter at mid-Pacific’s Point Nemo, the most distant place on earth from nearest land.
“The locations for this series have been a fundamental part of the show itself, always in an inaccessible place,” Laura Fernández Espeso, The Mediapro Studio CEO, told Variety before talking at a Mipcom Media Mastermind Keynote on Tuesday.

The Mediapro Studio is teaming with Spanish director Jorge Dorado and author Cuca Canals on detective thriller “The Young Poe” in a bid to build a second English-language international franchise on the heels and of the scale of “The Head,” sold to 90-plus territories and Tms’ biggest breakout hit to date.
Enrolling one of the biggest IPs in literary history, Edgar Allen Poe, the series adapts the hit novel saga of Spain’s Cuca Canals, co-screenwriter of Bigas Luna’s celebrated “Jamón Jamón” movie trilogy.
Canals’ novels imagine Poe as a precocious, irrepressible, neurotic and highly Gothic 11 or 12 year-old in 1820 Boston, grounding in true events of Poe’s childhood the extraordinarily analytical and morbid mind which Edgar Allen Poe brings to his fiction – whether 1841’s “The Murders in the Rue Morgue,” commonly regarded as the first modern detective story, or the horror short stories such as “The Fall of the House of Usher.

Ireland's Parallel Films and Spanish production company Tornasol are the main producers with France's Haut et Court also on board. A strong Irish cast have also been recruited with David Wilmot (Good Vibrations) set to play a hippie who comes between the two leads and Bronagh Gallagher cast as the cynical and humorous wife of Oliver's best friend. Other Irish cast attached to the project include Lorcan Cranitch (Rome) and Ger Ryan (Raw), who will play Oliver's mother. Chris Newman (Aisling's Diary) and Michelle Beamish (Eden) have also been cast in minor roles.

In contrast to her Knocked Up co-star Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl has not followed up Judd Apatow‘s hit comedy as well. The projects she stars in seem to get worse and worse, with romantic “comedies” such as The Ugly Truth and Killers, in addition to the laughably bad One For the Money this year, Heigl’s career is in desperate need of a revival. Although it has admittedly only been 5 years since the Judd Apatow romantic comedy stole our hearts, Rogen‘s film choices have been infinitely better than hers since, and it doesn’t take long for a star to get lost in the crowd in Hollywood. Perhaps with the bad taste of her recent decisions in mind, the star has opted to join two projects with significantly darker tones than her normal work.

Another day, another thriller about prosopagnosia.
French writer-director Julien Magnat's 2011 straight-to-dvd indie thriller Faces in the Crowd dealt with the disorder, which causes "face blindness" or the inability to recognize faces, in a story that saw Milla Jovovich stalked by a serial killer after suffering from a head injury. Katherine Heigl is the latest actress to have the affliction in the similarly plotted Face Blind.
Deadline reports that Heigl will produce and star in the movie, where she will play a psychologist who is struck with the affliction and finds herself stalked by the man who terrorized one of her patients. See how Face Blind is different from Faces in the Crowd? Jovovich played a schoolteacher, not a psychologist.

Katherine Heigl is set to star in the Dominic Harari and Teresa De Pelegri-scripted indie thriller "Face Blind" for Maven Pictures says Deadline.
The former "Grey's Anatomy" star will play a psychologist struck with a rare affliction that makes it impossible to distinguish people by their faces.
When a man who terrorized her most vulnerable patient stalks her, the psychologist can’t recognize him, and her husband thinks she’s the one who is going crazy. Heiglm Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray are producing.
If the premise sounds familiar, it's nearly the same as that of last year's direct-to-disc Milla Jovovich thriller "Faces in a Crowd".

Remember that Milla Jovovich flick Faces in the Crowd? No? That could be because it sucked, but in any event a new flick is on its way with kind of a similar storyline. Could this one get it right?
According to Deadline Katherine Heigl (pictured right) will star in Face Blind, an independent thriller about a psychologist struck with a rare affliction that makes it impossible to distinguish people by their faces.

It seems Hollywood doesn't know what on Earth to do with Katherine Heigl. Her career as a rom-com star seems to be dwindling fast, with "One For The Money" opening in third last week (thanks to a Groupon promotion) to bigger numbers than expected, but still pretty dismal all around. In fact it's the worst starring role opening she's had ever -- yes, even "Killers" with Ashton Kutcher made more on its first weekend. So, she's gonna change up the game a bit. The actress is now set to star in the thriller "Face Blind." Penned by Dominic Harari and Teresa De Pelegri, the story centers on a psychologist with the rare affliction where she can't tell people by their faces (if you think this is far fetched, famed neurologist Oliver Sacks actually has this ailment as well). Things get crazy as she becomes the target of a stalker who...

It is a landmark moment because it means that you are taking the relationship seriously enough to be meeting your significant other’s family. And it is a test of the relationship’s strength because the situation is awkward for all parties involved – your significant other, his or her family, and you. You want to make a good impression on the family. The parents want to make a good impression on you; after all, if the relationship is a success you may be a new addition to the family.
