In front of a loud and rowdy crowd of fans, Rooster Teeth performed its first ever live performance of the hit web series Red vs. Blue over the weekend during Blip by Blipwest at SXSW. Blip’s Kent Nichols (of Ask a Ninja fame) introduced the MCs for the event, but had the idea of a live machinima performance well before Saturday’s show. “I’ve been dreaming about this moment for about 8 years, since the end of season 1,” Nichols said in front of the crowd at the Cedar Street Courtyard. Nichols’ desire to accomplish such theatrics was well known by Rooster Teeth partner Matt Hullum (who also voices the character Sarge). Nichols has been bringing the idea up to Rooster Teeth principals for quite some time. “Kent Nichols is a longtime friend and he’s been hounding us to do this forever,” Joked Hullum after he performed. Nichols persistence...

for April 29th, 2010
Surely you’ve heard the hubbub. Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau graced us with their presence at a sneak screening of Iron Man 2 on Tuesday (aka, raddest Tuesday ever!). You can read all about that Here, but fair warning, you might get a little jealous. Be comforted by the fact that I didn’t see Rdj either. What a handsome fellow…
No Time For Moping! We’ve got too much fun stuff to do. First of all, tickets for the Second Screening Of Weird Al Live In Person go on sale in less than 24 hours! Fact. Don’t miss the sale or there will be no Wheel of Fish for you! Also, Fantastic Fest 2008 favorite The Good, The Bad, And The Weird opens Friday at S. Lamar. This movie is pure fun, not to mention its gorgeous visuals (and a couple of the actors.

The Winter X Games 14 begin Thursday in Aspen, and if you haven't watched them before, here's a reason to start: Snowmobile Knock Out. It's one of the new disciplines added this year, and the name is just too awesome to ignore. Here's the description: "Snowmobile Knock Out will feature six Snowmobile athletes whose scores are based on actual distance traveled from a steel take-off ramp over a 75-foot gap to a snow landing. The contest will be in a series of rounds, whereby all riders will start from the same distance, and will be given two attempts to jump their snowmobile as far as possible.

The Alamo Guide
for December 10th, 2009 If you’re at the S. Lamar theater this weekend, and you see a bunch of groggy ass, smelly, crazy-looking people wandering out of the theater around noon on Sunday, don’t worry. They won’t hurt you, they will have just sat through a full 24 hours plus of movies and they’ll be in desperate need of sleep. I’ll be one of them. It’ll be awesomely exhausting! Aside from that, if you got tickets already (if not, toooo bad), you can see the folks from Broken Lizard with their newest film The Slammin’ Salmon, but the most important thing that you should do is Go See Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans!!! Yes, the name is long, and the trailer makes it look kind of silly, but the hype over at Alamo Headquarters is ridiculous and the few people in...

It's Thanksgiving week, meaning the holidays are actually here now, in all their actualness. But even more exciting - the new holiday menus are in at all of our theaters! We've got turkey burgers, fried brie, samosas, and apple pecan turnovers on the holiday special menu, but it doesn't stop there. The innovations keep on going on the inside of the menu, too, with the return of this summer's batwings as well as brand new fried pork chops. And... Christmas beers are in! Oh, and of course we've got all sorts of Thanksgiving menu specials this Thursday, too, including complete turkey dinners at all of our theaters. In other words - don't fill up with your family meal, because that's sooooo just the beginning.
