Unit scientist Osgood, played by Ingrid Oliver, returns to Doctor Who for season nine. Having been killed by Missy (Michelle Gomez) in the show’s season eight finale ‘Death in Heaven’, Steven Moffat decided to bring back the Doctor’s biggest fan.
Steven Moffat, lead writer and Executive Producer, said: “Osgood is back, fresh from her recent murder at the end of last series. We recently confirmed that Osgood was definitely dead and not returning – but in a show about time travel, anything can happen. The brilliant Ingrid Oliver is back in action. This time though, can the Doctor trust his number one fan?”
This time she’s back in action and comes face-to-face with the shape-shifting extra-terrestrial Zygons, as they also return for the new season. They last appeared in ‘The Day of the Doctor’ for the show’s 50th anniversary episode.

Steven Moffat is undoing one of Doctor Who's cruellest twists - by bringing Osgood (Ingrid Oliver) back from the dead.
The loveable Unit scientist will return for a new two-part adventure, alongside colleague Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave).
Osgood last featured in series 8's finale, 'Death in Heaven', and was killed by the maniacal Missy (Michelle Gomez).
Also returning to Doctor Who are classic monsters the Zygons, shape-shifting aliens first introduced in 1975 and last featured in 2013's 50th anniversary special, 'The Day of the Doctor'.
Moffat had previously expressed his desire to bring back the Zygons, following their reappearance in the celebratory episode.
Of Osgood's own return, he said: "Osgood is back, fresh from her recent murder at the end of last series. We recently confirmed that Osgood was definitely dead and not returning - but in a show about time travel, anything can happen.

In 2007, Mike Herrera of pop-punk band MxPx joined guitarist Jack Parker, bassist Marshall Trotland and drummer Harley Trotland in an alt-country side project called Tumbledown. The band recently finished a tour in support of their second LP, Empty Bottle. Parker recounts the second part of that tour for us below: Deep in the heart of Texas is like a second home for Tumbledown. We’ve played more there than in our hometown, and the shows are almost always packed full of enthusiastic Texans. Frisco, Dallas, Austin and Houston were no exception for our Empty Bottle tour. Over the past three years,...

You may or may not know this yet, but Vanilla Ice has his own new TV show. No, it's not an Osbournes-style series revealing his home life. And it's not a dating show like Brett Michaels' Rock of Love or even a music industry game show to find a new hip hop artist. Vanilla Ice has a home renovation show on Diy Network. Yup. Who would have thought, huh?
The "Ice, Ice, Baby" singer, the first hip hop artist to top the Billboard charts, is flipping houses as a hobby, and he's sharing it with all of us.
The Vanilla Ice Project debuts tonight at 9:00 Pm with two back-to-back episodes. And the most surprising part? Ice (or Robert Van Winkle as he's known when not on stage) actually knows what he's doing.
In the first episode he explains that he has lived in Palm Beach,...
