Philip Olivier thinks his body lands him acting work. The 33-year-old actor keeps in the best physical shape he can because he thinks his toned physique is one of his greatest professional assets. He said: ''I keep fit and trim, not only for my health but because it's a very lucrative business. There must be more than 10 jobs I've only got because of my body. Like I did the 'Never Forget' [stage] show and I'd never had any musical experience - I couldn't sing and I still can't - but I got cast as the stripper and that's down to the...

(Warning: Extremely significant spoilers follow!)
Oh, those mad geniuses who write for Big Finish. Back in 2001, they released a Sixth Doctor audio story called “Project: Twilight”, which introduced the Forge and its master, Nimrod, as well as a young, often crying woman named Cassie (appropriately for the title, it also brought vampires back to the Who universe). This was a good, solid story (that I only listened to for the first time this last week), and it seemed fairly stand-alone. It wasn’t. It turned out to be a part of a huge arc that spanned the Sixth and Seventh Doctor’s (Sylvester McCoy) eras and had a direct impact on Seventh Doctor companion, Hex (Philip Olivier). The full scale of that impact finally comes home to roost in this story, which also seems to be a follow-up to the 1989 TV episode, “The Curse of Fenric”.

Mem Ferda as DusanThe Crew is an action thriller, which was released in North America late in 2009, based on the novel "Outlaws" by author Kevin Sampson. The film reveals the seedy Liverpool underworld and the criminals who inhabit it. The Crew stars Stephen Graham ("London Boulevard"), Scot Williams (Dead Man Running), Mem Ferda (Legacy) and Rory McCann. Now that the film has been released and distributed, actor and villain Ferda is able to talk about his role as Dusan in this production. From Film File a German online magazine, Ferda states that becoming the antagonist in a thriller is actually very easy: "playing villains is fun. It can be a form of therapy for the innate evil that is within us all."
Empire magazine has described the film as "an intense thriller," and from Ferda he describes his character as "a guy with serious issues" (Film File). Criticized for its...

Ok let’s be honest, who doesn’t like a good Dalek story? Sure I hear people complain that they are overused, but I see some of those same people with a Huge grin on their faces when they watch or hear one. They’re not fooling me, nor Big Finish it would seen as they gave us a whopper of a good story with May’s release of Enemy of the Daleks. It’s a bit of a milestone story for Hex as actor Philip Olivier can finally state: “you’re not a companion...

Starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor with companions Ace (Sophie Aldred) and Hex (Philip Olivier), Big Finish released David Bishop's Enemy of the Daleks in May to a great response. Bliss used to be a paradise planet. The Galapagos Islands of space. Worse, the Daleks are coming, on the trail of a...
