Let’S Be Evil
Stars: Elizabeth Morris, Kara Tointon, Elliot James Langridge, Isabelle Allen, Jamie Bernadette, Brooke Johnston, Martin Owen, Helene Wilson, Paul Casar, Jonathan Willis, Billie Wilson, Aimee Wright | Written by Elizabeth Morris, Martin Owen, Jonathan Willis | Directed by Martin Owen
Desperately in need of money to care for a sick parent, Jenny (Morris) takes a job supervising children at a learning centre for gifted students. But when she and two other new employees are ushered into a maximum-security underground bunker where eerily robotic children are outfitted with augmented reality glasses, Jenny finds herself thrust into a disturbing technological experiment in which she is an unwitting player in a terrifying virtual game.
Techno-horror is a genre that, given my previous experiences with films of this nature, is really hard to get right. The reliance on the technology within, techno-babble et al. can, and often does, overwhelm the story the filmmakers are trying to tell.

Chicago – Using Chicago as a backdrop has rarely been as kinetic and exciting as under the direction of Marie Ullrich. Expanding upon a short film she produced in 2010 called “Faster,” about a bike messenger in the Windy City, Ullrich went for a grittier and more emotional look at that world in “The Alley Cat” in 2014. The film was released on Blu-ray and DVD on August 16th, 2016.
“The Alley Cat” evolves the story of Jasper (Jenny Strubin), the protagonist in the previous short film “Faster.” In “The Alley Cat,” Jasper is participating in a nighttime bike race/rally through Chicago, with her bike messenger colleagues. At the same time she is having family issues, including a relationship confrontation with her sister. Everything is coming to a resolution on race night, as fast as a lightweight bike on flat pavement. The film uses the available light of the streets, and is told...

An Australian coroner, Elizabeth Morris, has ruled that infant Azaria Chamberlain was stolen by a dingo in the 32-year-old murder mystery, MSNBC is reporting. The ruling brings closure to a case that drew national headlines after Azaria was killed in the Australian outback. The Northern Territory coroner told a courtroom that a dingo, a wild dog native to Australia, took Azaria from a campground near Uluru. Her parents always maintained that their daughter was taken by a dingo, even though her body was never found. Azaria’s official cause of death remained undetermined until now. Her mother, Lindy Chamberlain, served three years for murder, in the 1980s. Her father, Michael Chamberlain, [ Read More ]...

"Allo Darlin":http://allodarlin.com/' is many things, all of which are reminiscent of other bands: a sped-up Hem, a female-led Lucksmiths and a more cheerful Cranberries. Elizabeth Morris' particular brand of vocal pleasantry is just right for the melodic content; her voice is strong, but not so strong that it overpowers the dainty notes it lilts over.

Investigations continue more than two decades after Streep's Oscar-nominated performance as Lindy Chamberlain
More than two decades after Meryl Streep was Oscar-nominated for her portrayal of an Australian mother wrongly jailed for killing her child, a court has reopened investigations into whether the nine-week-old baby really was taken and killed by a dingo.
Northern Territory coroner Elizabeth Morris opened the fourth inquest into the death of Azaria Chamberlain on Friday following depositions from Lindy Chamberlain and her ex-husband Michael. The couple's plight was brought to the big screen in 1988 as A Cry in the Dark (or Evil Angels in Australia), with Streep and Sam Neill taking the lead roles.

Nine-week-old Azaria Chamberlain disappeared on Aug. 17, 1980 near Australia's Ayers Rock. Though her parents insisted she was killed by a dingo -- the native wild Australian dog -- a court found her mother, Lindy Chamberlain guilty of murder and she spent four years in prison before the conviction was overturned
Now, a new investigation into the death -- the fourth in 30 years -- will re-focus on the dingo theory, according to the Associated Press. The coroner attached to the new inquiry, Elizabeth Morris, announced that she would "examine new evidence provided by Azaria's parents that dingoes attack children."
Since 2001 there have been three reported attacks on children by dingoes, one fatal.
In 1988, Meryl Streep won an Academy Award nomination for her role as Lindy Chamberlain in "A Cry in the Dark."
Streep's portrayal was also used for comic fodder on NBC's "Seinfeld," which made the phrase "Maybe the dingo ate your...
