Exclusive: Sherlock and Good Omens star Siân Brooke is to lead BBC One police thriller Blue Lights from the creators of The Salisbury Poisonings, with filming kicking off in Belfast.
Brooke will play Grace and be joined by The Dig’s Katherine Devlin and newcomer Nathan Braniff as three rookie police officers in the Northern Irish capital, with Grace making the decision in her 40s to leave her steady job and join the force. Just a few weeks into her role, she’s making so many mistakes that her decision no longer looks like a winning bet.

Sean Bean is set to star in the six-part period crime drama series "The Frankenstein Chronicles" for Rainmark Films and British network ITV. The story reimagines Mary Shelley's classic story as a gruesome mystery procedural.
Set in 1827 London, Bean plays police inspector John Marlott who makes a shocking discovery involving a corpse washed up on the banks of the Thames - a corpse assembled from mutilated body parts.
Marlott is tasked by the British Home Secretary with tracking the perpetrator of this heinous crime. His investigations leads him through the darkest corners of Regency London - prostitution, drug smuggling, bodysnatching, contract killings, and ultimately something far more horrific than he could have imagined.
Director/writer Benjamin Ross ("Rko 281," "The Young Poisoner’s Handbook") and writer Barry Langford ("Torte Bluma") will serve in those capacities on the project which marks the first original drama of ITV's subscription channel ITV Encore.
