Joe Cornet, the director of the action packed western Gunfight at Rio Bravo (you can check it out on Amazon at This Link) and its upcoming sequel Taken from Rio Bravo, recently made his horror directing debut with Night of the Caregiver (you can watch that one at This Link and read our review of it Here), which was produced by Rio Bravo star / former Mr. Universe Alexander Nevsky.
It was recently announced that the Rio Bravo creative team are working on a third film in that series, to be called The Last Heroes of Rio Bravo – but before that goes into production, they’re returning to the horror genre! Cornet is set to direct a horror film called The Ominous, with production scheduled to start in February of 2024. Nevsky is producing the film through his Hollywood Storm production banner and will also be starring in it, making his horror acting debut!

Arnold Schwarzenegger continues to make the rounds to promote his new book, Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life. His book, plus the latest Netflix documentary, Arnold, pays tribute to the former Mr. Universe’s never-ending drive that landed him bodybuilding championships, made him the king of the box office, and, of course, got him elected as Governor of California. While Demolition Man made a semi-prophetic joke about Schwarzenegger becoming a politician, the joke would involve the Terminator actor amending the constitution in order to become president.
Variety reports that the former Conan the Barbarian would talk about his political introspective in an interview with the BBC. “I feel like I would make a great president. Everything I’ve accomplished was because of America,” Schwarzenegger stated. Although the star feels very commonplace now, the Arnold documentary revealed every perceived shortcoming that Schwarzenegger had to overcome when people counted him out. His...

Horror Film School is a feature in which talent in front of and behind the camera share the ins and outs of creating the biggest onscreen scares.
Eddie Alcazar’s feature film debut “Divinity” is a lot of things scene-to-scene: a love story; an examination of how a father’s legacy can impact his son; a creature feature; a black and white sci-fi throwback; a stop motion masterpiece. Utilizing his low budget as a way to spark creativity, writer and director Eddie Alcazar successfully develops his dystopian vision of the future in which society is obsessed with the titular drug, which promises everlasting youth. Yet the director pauses when asked if he’d consider his dynamic midnight movie to be “weird.”
“I never really think about that too much,” he says. “‘Is this a commercial film or not?’ That’s a big thing I sometimes think about. It depends on...

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger was recently seen lifting weights at the gym in Los Angeles just weeks before he celebrates his 76th birthday.
However, it’s clear to see he is still exercising like he’s training for Mr. Universe. He even got his exercise on his way to work riding his bike, reports mirror.co.uk.
The former governor of California was working out his arms as he sat on a workout bench using a workout machine. He paid no attention to other gym goers as he wore all black –a black t-shirt, black shorts, black slip-on trainers, and black calf-length socks.
In typical Terminator fashion, he also wore tinted sunglasses the entire time.
While biking, Arnold wore a blue zip-up jacket with an orange, red, and white emblem. He also seems to be keeping his hair a brunette colour while his beard and moustache seem to be naturally white.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has gone all-in on Netflix. First came Fubar, a rollicking action-comedy series where the former Terminator stars as an aging CIA operative who embarks on one last mission with his daughter. And now there’s Arnold, a three-part docuseries directed by Lesley Chilcott that explores the 75-year-old icon’s journey from Austrian bodybuilder to Hollywood icon and California governor. In the film, Schwarzenegger is joined by pals like director James Cameron, co-stars Danny DeVito and Jamie Lee Curtis, and even his ‘80s rival Sylvester Stallone.

The role of retired CIA operative Luke Brunner in Netflix’s Fubar is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “first TV role ever” in the same way that this is my first McVitie’s Milk Chocolate Hobnob of the day – it absolutely isn’t but if it makes us all happier to lie to ourselves then why not?
Early press for action-comedy series Fubar has made much of the coup of Netflix bagging Schwarzenegger for television. At last! The Governator is “set to make his TV series debut” says The Hollywood Reporter. This marks the action icon’s “first ever television series”, says Collider. Science has finally figured out how to make TV screens wide enough to accommodate the Hollywood star’s mighty girth, and now we’ve got him. Never mind that Arnie’s been muscling around on television since 1974.

Netflix’s Killer Sally docuseries explored the true crime story of Sally McNeil. On Valentine’s Day, the Marine and bodybuilder fatally shot her husband, Ray McNeil, after years of abuse. The case gained national attention due to Sally and Ray’s bodybuilding careers. Sally served 19-to-life for the murder. But her story in Killer Sally is not the only murder crime committed by a bodybuilder.
Bodybuilder and Marine Sally McNeil in ‘Killer Sally’ | via Netflix Sally’s crime in ‘Killer Sally’ does not compare to bodybuilder Gordon Kimbrough’s murder case
In 1993, news hit of a professional bodybuilder committing a horrific murder. According to a New York Times article, Gordon Kimbrough was “a chemical machine.” He used various steroids and drugs to reach a perfectly built physique. Kimbrough and his then-girlfriend Kristy Ramsey were well-known in San Francisco for their bodybuilding careers.
Their relationship was rocky as Kimbrough had affairs and physically abused Ramsey.

There's much more to Arnold Schwarzenegger than his time portraying T-800. Anyone familiar with his book, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," will realize how brilliantly this title lives up to the remarkable tales he has to tell. Growing up in rural Austria amid the rubble of failed Nazi Germany, Schwarzenegger dominated the body-building world, emerging as Mr. Universe at 20 years old. He won the Mr. Olympia title a staggering seven times.
But he didn't stop there -- in fact, far from it. Moving to America, he set his sights on acting, an unlikely goal considering his size and accent. Despite these challenges, Schwarzenegger stuck at it, taking language lessons to lose his native intonation and eventually bagged film roles, including the lead in 1970's "Hercules in New York." For the film, they dubbed his voice and credited him under the name Arnold Strong. More roles followed as his accent and acting improved,...

With its dude-heavy cast that includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Sonny Landham and Jesse "The Body" Ventura, you might not be surprised to learn that the set of John McTiernan's sci-fi/action classic "Predator" was a daily test of macho mettle. The boys went for daily five-mile runs and hit Schwarzenegger's private weight room (which the former Mr. Universe had transported from Los Angeles) for daily workouts that, according to Weathers, apparently descended into muscle-measuring contests.
There was no let-up, especially for the "Predator" star, who felt he had to maintain his Alpha-Dog dominance over his co-stars. However, this prideful drive...

There's an interesting new movie in development called Bigger, which tells the story of Joe and Ben Weider, who are the founders of the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding contest. As you'd imagine, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be a big part of that story since he was a part of all around the time when it first started in 1965.
The brothers, who co-founded the International Federation of Bodybuidling, discovered Schwarzenegger and encouraged him to come to the U.S. Prior to being a blockbuster action star and Governor of California, Schwarzenegger was a seven-time Mr. Olympia-title holder. Back in 1972, the Weider brothers sold a nutritional supplement, Weider Formula No. 7, that featured a young Arnold Schwarzenegger on the label.
Director George Gallo has cast the man who will play Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie and that man is Calum Von Moger, who is 2014's Mr. Universe champion. He will join the previously cast Tyler Hoechlin...

Rejoice! Only one more month until new episodes of “Rick and Morty.”

With this show, anthropomorphized food is par for the course, so it’s no surprise that this sneak peek at Season 3 starts with a meme-ready intro of the newly christened Pickle Rick. There’s also colorful chaos, graphic dismemberment and whatever gave Morty that murderous Mr. Universe arm — you know, typical “Rick and Morty” stuff.

This can’t be what Arnold Schwarzenegger imagined 2017 to look like: Sure, there’s a reality star in the White House, the Chicago Cubs are World Series champions, and his arch-rival (/best celebrity friend), Sylvester Stallone, is a recent Academy Award nominee. Yet for the ex-governor of California, far more confounding is how he became an ex-celebrity.
Schwarzenegger spent his acting life amassing a domestic box office of more than $1.8 billion. That haul came from comedies, like “Twins” ($111 million); science fiction, like “Total Recall” ($119 million) and “Terminator 2” ($204 million); or — his bread and butter — action flicks a la “True Lies” ($146 million) and “Eraser” ($101 million). But one unfortunate connection for all of Schwarzenegger’s films grossing $100 million-plus: They were all made before the year 2000.

The distribution landscape continues to evolve, with a healthy mixture of new players and stalwarts, and yet every year there are great movies that slip through the cracks. For the most part, movies that gain serious traction on the festival circuit find their way to various American buyers and usually wind up with some kind of home.
