Won Broadway's 1966 Tony Award as Best Supporting or Featured Actor

He was the youngest person to win a Tony Award, which he received in 1966, at age 11 years and 1 month, for his featured role in the Broadway musical "Mame".
Noted for singing the theme to the Little Miss America pageant which was held at Palisades Amusement Park (in New Jersey) from the middle 1960s. The song (written by Gladys Shelley who'd also written the Park's "Come On Over" jingle) was even put to record (on the Spiral label) in 1965 when Micheals was just 10 years old.
As a young child he was able to pick out tunes by ear on the piano. He took lessons in singing, dancing, piano, drums, vibraphone and acting.
