Exclusive: Deadline has learned that the Gavin O’Connor-directed Ben Affleck movie The Way Back (ne Torrance) is jumping from its Oct. 18 release to March 6, 2020.
In the movie, Affleck stars as a former basketball all-star, who after struggling with addiction, attempts to comeback by becoming the coach of a disparate high school basketball team at his alma mater. We hear that test results for The Way Back were solid and that it’s a commercial film. On its new date, the adult-demo targeted The Way Back will have more breathing room versus the crowded fall marketplace. The March launch date also allows Warners to take advantage of the start of basketball season and promote it during that time during Ncaa and NBA.
Those wide releases left standing on Oct. 18 is Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Sony’s Zombieland 2: Double Tap. On its new March date, The Way Back...

Last fall’s audience-pleaser is indeed a pleasant surprise, not because it’s a classic but because it isn’t plain awful. An unnecessary third remake of a Depression-era Cinderella story has been concocted to showcase the special talents of Lady Gaga, who indeed comes off as the most personable and deserving star-to-be-born since Judy Garland. Bradley Cooper stunned the industry by wearing almost all the creative hats on this thing — and producing an entertainment that will enhance the careers of all involved.

Here’s your first look at the brand new trailer for Chips. Warner Bros. Pictures will release the movie on March 24, 2017.
Dax Shepard (“Hit and Run,” TV’s “Parenthood”) and Michael Peña (“The Martian”) star in Warner Bros. Pictures’ action comedy CHiPs. Shepard also directs from a script he penned based on the characters from the popular ‘70s television series created by Rick Rosner.
Jon Baker (Shepard) and Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Peña) have just joined the California Highway Patrol (Chp) in Los Angeles but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten up pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside job—inside the Chp.

For the second consecutive year, Warner Bros. Pictures International has exceeded the coveted $3 billion mark at the international box office. This benchmark comes on the heels of the release of The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, which surpassed $400 million at the international box office this weekend and is still going strong.
Nine Warner Bros. Pictures films have exceeded $100 million internationally, topped by Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar (with Paramount Pictures), which has taken in an astounding $467 million outside of the U.S. to date, and Godzilla (with Legendary Pictures), which has earned $327 million overseas.
Four titles – Doug Liman’s Edge Of Tomorrow (with Village Roadshow Pictures), Phil Lord & Christopher Miller’s The Lego Movie (also with Village Roadshow Pictures), and Noam Murro and Zack Snyder’s 300: Rise Of An Empire (with Legendary), along with the 2014 spillover grosses from The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug...

Warner Bros. has revealed the first trailer for Will Ferrell’s upcoming comedy, Get Hard. From director Etan Cohen, the Gary Sanchez-produced pic looks primed to kickstart Ferrell’s slapstick antics, which have been sorely missing from the cinema calendar as of late.
In the movie, the former SNL star appears as hedge fund manager, James. When the millionaire is indicted for fraud, his impending stint in prison fills him with dread. Luckily, Kevin Hart’s Darnell is on hand to prepare James for all of the experiences that await him behind the bars of San Quentin.
With the first preview now available (via Yahoo! Movies), we’re able to get a sense of what’s in store for the timid chappie while he gets himself ready for prison life. As stories go, the premise overall isn’t that enticing. It simply sounds like a re-hash of countless other...

Here’s your first look at the poster and photos from Get Hard. The film is scheduled to open nationwide on Friday, March 27, 2015.
When millionaire hedge fund manager James (Will Ferrell) is nailed for fraud and bound for a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him 30 days to get his affairs in order. Desperate, he turns to Darnell (Kevin Hart) to prep him for a life behind bars. But despite James’ one-percenter assumptions, Darnell is a hard-working small business owner who has never received a parking ticket, let alone been to prison.
Together, the two men do whatever it takes for James to “get hard” and, in the process, discover how wrong they were about a lot of things – including each other.
Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart join forces in the feature comedy Get Hard, also starring Tip “T.I.” Harris, Alison Brie, and Craig T. Nelson.

The Shadowy story of The Dark Knight Rises takes a little more form tonight with news that Josh Pence has been cast as a younger Ra's al Ghul.
Liam Neeson played the villain in Batman Begins. The appearance of a more youthful version in scenes said to be set 30 years ago indicates that director Christopher Nolan will bring the story full circle with his final instalment.
Pence (above left) portrayed one of the Winklevoss siblings in The Social Network, though his face was digitally replaced by that of co-star Armie Hammer to create the appearance of identical twins, and is in Peter Berg's board-game adaptation Battleship (due out in May 2012) alongside Rihanna, Taylor Kitsch and Liam Neeson.

Chicago – With shooting expected to begin in May 2011 for “The Dark Knight Rises,” Warner Bros. is currently busy scouting filming locations. While rumors have been running rampant for the last six months about which cities make the lucky cut, we now have two confirmed: Los Angeles and somewhere in the United Kingdom.

This news surfaced on Dec. 30, 2010 from Scene (Lousiana’s entertainment magazine), which cited an exclusive interview with Warner Bros. senior vice president of production Ravi Mehta.
In further news, there will be a currently unknown third filming city, too. Will Chicago, which embodied the integral and iconic Gotham City in “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight,” make the cut? Perhaps not. Of course, Scene wants and has some reason to believe that New Orleans is in the running as the project’s third filming city.

Natalie Portman isn’t involved in either the new Superman or Batman films, it appears. And news on The Dark Knight Rises shooting locations, too.
We're playing a little bit of catch up following our holiday break, and one of the films we've been catching up with is The Dark Knight Rises.
Firstly, Natalie Portman has denied her involvement in the project. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress (who's surely the running favourite for the Best Actress Oscar off the back of Black Swan) firstly said that she knew nothing of the rumours linking her with the role of Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot of Superman. And when asked about The Dark Knight Rises, to which she's also been linked, she added, "I don't know anything about that."
Naturally, there's still speculation that she might just be fending rumours off, but then that's what the Internet does.

We’ve heard that Nolan will be returning to the UK (here), and that Nolan is scouting world-wide for the best locations to shoot the film (here and here). Senior vice president of production at Warner Bros, Ravi Mehta, has confirmed to Scene Magazine (via Digital Spy) The Dark Knight Rises will be headed to the City of Angels.
Not only that, but Mehta confirms that production will take place in the UK, which could possibly mean that we’ll see the return of the Batcave (here), and Wayne Manor after it was burnt down by Ras Al Ghul (Liam Neeson) in Batman Begins. Mehta also mentions that a third city will be used, but it’s unknown if that will be Chicago,...

"The Dark Knight Rises" is set to begin production in April 2011 under the directorial guidance of Christopher Nolan, but the filmmaker's final foray into Gotham City will look a little bit different than it did in his previous movies.
Ravi Mehta, Senior Vice President of Production at Warner Bros., provided Scene Magazine (via Latino Review) with an update on the status of Nolan's third and purportedly last installment in the Batman movie franchise.
Mehta identified Los Angeles and the United Kingdom as two shooting locations for "The Dark Knight Rises," with an unidentified third city in the mix as well.
Nolan turned Chicago into Gotham City in his two previous Batman movies, and unless the Windy City is the third location that Mehta hinted at, this could be the end of an era for Batman's home turf.
Although Chicago remains a possibility for the third "The Dark Knight Rises" shooting location,...

A Louisiana shooting location for “The Dark Knight Rises” is still possible. Earlier reports claimed that New Orleans will be a shooting location for the project. However, the Louisiana’s state film commission confirmed that no pre-certification has been filed and there was no communication with the film’s producers about this project. “Someone took that story and ran wild with it,” said Ravi Mehta, senior vice president of production at Warner Bros, in an interview with Scene. “I know they are going to the United Kingdom, Los Angeles and there will be third city.” Mehta also indicated to Louisiana is still in consideration as a possible shooting location. “Well, I’m sure! Why not, right?” Mehta told Scene. “You’ve guys have great incentives and [we’ve had] positive experiences in Louisiana.” The film will be directed by Christopher Nolan. It stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine.

Probable destinations for the Green Lantern movie are bouncing around as fast as the Emerald ring-wearing heroes themselves: first we hear Mexico, then Canada.
But according to The Times-Picayune, at least part, and maybe all of the production is going to take place in Louisiana. An official at New Orleans’ Second Line Stages told the paper he has been contacted by the film’s producers, and Green Lantern production offices could be set up there as early as next week.
"The rumors are correct," said Kevin Murphy, the manager of studio operations at the Lower Garden District facility, who added production would occupy sound stages in December. Sets would be built that month, with principal photography to begin in March 2010.
"We are working out the details, and we have a nonrefundable contract" to rent stage space, Murphy said. "It would be, paint dries on one day, they're moving in the next.
