Fans could potentially spend hours arguing about the worst things the gang on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" have done over the course of 16 seasons. They have locked their enemies in a burning apartment, willfully manipulated members of the opposite sex, intentionally gotten addicted to drugs in order to try and scam the welfare system, and much morel. It's also pretty easy to argue about which member of the gang is the worst human being because they're all pretty monstrous. But there is one truly horrible thing, according to star Glenn Howerton, that his character Dennis hasn't done.
That might sound impossible, seeing as Dennis is among the gang's worst when it comes to being misanthropic (though Howerton had argued that Dennis isn't a psychopath). Still, there actually is a terrible, awful thing that Dennis has spoken about a few times but hasn't done, at least not in any episodes of "It's Always Sunny" itself.

The UK sports media have got excited this weekend with reports that Will Ferrell is the latest movie star to bring his celebrity, and his wallet, to English football.
The Sun newspaper was the first to print its exclusive that the Elf star had bought a “large stake” in Leeds United Football Club after falling in love with the British game, and other UK media have been swift to pick up the story.
While Leeds Fc have refused to confirm Ferrell’s arrival in its boardroom, saying they never comment on individual stakeholders, The Sun reports that the comedic actor had paid the club’s US owners 49ers Enterprises, that his involvement will be unveiled in a few days and quotes an insider confirming: “It’s true – Will Ferrell owns a share of Leeds. Break out Tom Cruise’s famous coconut cake, the wait is finally over. “Hacks,” TV’s funniest comedy about comedy, is back after a lengthy hiatus. The third season picks up a year after the events of Season 2, which saw Deborah (Emmy winner Jean Smart) fire her writing partner, Ava (Emmy nominee Hannah Einbinder), following the successful release of her comedy special so Ava could finally begin developing her own career.
The new season, the first two episodes of which are now streaming on Max, is as sharp and funny as ever as the two friends find their way back to one another when Deborah decides to have another go at hosting a late-night show. The enviable list of guest stars for the nine-episode season includes J. Smith-Cameron, Helen Hunt, Christina Hendricks and Christopher Lloyd. But it’s the chemistry between Smart and Einbinder — easily one of TV’s best...

Welcome To Wrexham has everything; Hollywood stars, a working class town in Wales searching for glory on the pitch, a sweary manager. We take a closer look at TV’s best docuseries.
Nb: The following contains mild spoilers for Wrexham AFC’s current season.
If you’re not watching Welcome To Wrexham, you’re truly missing out. Granted, it’s not exactly Game Of Thrones, but it might be one of the best things on telly currently. I’ve always found it difficult to tune into documentaries and docuseries, but Welcome To Wrexham has become a weekly tradition during its two previous seasons and the third season looks to be just as addictive and heartwarming.
I hate football, which is why I never imagined I would enjoy Welcome To Wrexham. The series follows the titular Welsh football club after Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought it in 2020. The club has a passionate,...

The third season of the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney midlife crisis saga, Welcome to Wrexham, is like watching a live-action Ted Lasso. The series makes you think Wrexham AFC was what the team on AFC Richmond was probably really like: an eclectic group run by some ignorant, football-naive Americans who may be a bit over their heads.
Yet, the third season of Welcome to Wrexham represents something we love about movies or television: never to count out the underdog. The reality series encapsulates the dreamer in all of us, mainly by capturing how a sense of community and the nature of professional sports fandom meet in the middle.

Like many sitcoms, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" follows a group of friends initially grouped by their workplace (and family ties) who have become bound by their long history of antics with one another. Unlike most sitcoms, the gang on "Always Sunny" really does not act like they care about one another pretty much at all. Sure, characters on shows like "Seinfeld" and "How I Met Your Mother" are frequently snarky with one another, but they generally have one another's backs when things get tough. In the original pilot for "Sunny" that eventually became the season 1 episode "Charlie Has Cancer," Dennis (Glenn Howerton) visits his friend Charlie (Charlie Day) to borrow a basketball, only for Charlie to tell him that he has cancer, which makes Dennis do everything he can to leave without having to really help Charlie or deal with his discomfort in any way. It's brutal and brutally...

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are celebrating in style following another Wrexham promotion to a better league.
Reynolds co-owns the club with fellow actor McElhenney. The team secured promotion to League Two last year. Now, a 6-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers on Saturday means they will play in League One next season.
On X, formerly Twitter, Reynolds wrote: “A few years ago, if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in North Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney. Congrats to Wrexham and to my co-chairman in crime. Double up the town! This is the ride of our lives.”
He later posted a celebration of McElhenny’s birthday, allegedly underwriting a trip to the Titanic to grab a few bottles of Wrexham Lager for a toast. See the results below.
Since McElhenney and Reynolds’ bought the team in February 2021, they have boosted its worldwide attention.

There are few shows that push the boundaries of good taste quite like "It's Sunny in Philadelphia." The long-running FX comedy series has had a relative lack of backlash over the years despite joking about controversial topics in every single episode, but it has come up against some issues with censorship over the years. Sometimes, this happened after the fact, like when five episodes were removed from most streaming services for racially insensitive content in the wake of the George Floyd protests, and sometimes it came at the hands of either network brass or basic network standards. While it's understandable that there might be some pushback for some of the show's wilder ideas, all the way back in season 1 the series' creatives really had to fight even to include a controversial word on the show. This word is not a slur, a swear, or offensive in any way outside of people's feelings around the issue,...

Welcome to Wrexham season 3 will have to wait a bit longer. The third installment of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s soccer docuseries will delay its premiere to early May, FX announced Thursday.
The show was originally set to premiere its third season April 18, but the release has now been pushed to May 2. FX did not give a reason for the shift.
The fly-on-the-wall sports documentary series follows Reynolds and McElhenney as they navigate their ownership of the world’s third-oldest professional soccer club in the northern Welsh town of Wrexham.
The show won five Emmy Awards for its first season in January, after concluding its second installment last December. FX confirmed season three’s renewal in November 2023.
“In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th tier Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the Club into an underdog story the whole world could root for,” an FX release read Thursday.

Jack Black recently explained to IGN, “An actor prepares so I have literally been exclusive to Minecraft for the last month and a half. Arguably the best episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is the season 11 banger "Mac & Dennis Move to the Suburbs," an episode that really only follows two members of the gang but manages to be chock full of laughs. The episode is among the highest rated on IMDb and seems to be pretty universally appreciated by fans. While there are a handful of "Always Sunny" episodes that play with horror elements, like "The Maureen Ponderosa Wedding Massacre" and "Charlie's Home Alone," but "Mac & Dennis Move to the Suburbs" draws from one of the greatest horror movies of all time: Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining."
The episode follows Mac (Rob McElhenney) and Dennis (Glenn Howerton), who are unable to find an apartment that fits their needs after they burned their own place down. They decide to move to a big house in the suburbs, where their rent money will stretch much further.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had some pretty unforgettable bits over the years, but some of the best moments of the show hands down are the musical numbers. There was Dee's rapping boyfriend, Dennis and Mac's glam rock band, the animated musical number in the season 4 Christmas special, and of course, there was "The Nightman Cometh." But who could forget one of the most popular songs in "Sunny" — the patriotic anthem "Rock, Flag, and Eagle."
The song was originally an inside joke between series co-creator and star Charlie Day, who stars in the show as a character named after himself, along with actor and writer David Hornsby, who plays the recurring character Rickety Cricket.
"Hornsby and I would joke about truck commercials, and that they — at that time, I don't know if they're still doing this — it seemed like they were just pumping out the most stereotypical American things,...

The gang in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are always getting themselves into trouble, but the series creators can't be quite as reckless as their characters. As lawless as the series may seem, they have to abide by the same safety codes as every other major network show. The much-needed protection of unions and insurance has made it so cruder methods used in the filmmaking days of yore are no longer kosher on set. Unfortunately, that means that certain dangerous practical effects from the gritty New Hollywood era have gone the way of the Dodo. So when the "Sunny" creators wanted to mimic an effect from acclaimed filmmaker David Cronenberg's early career hit "Scanners," they ran into a major roadblock.
An important moment in American history is re-imagined in "The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell," in which the gang's timeless adversary Rickety Cricket gets his head blown off violently (albeit accidentally) with a musket.

The "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" guest star roster is impressive. The series has seen special appearances by the likes of Sean William Scott, Lance Reddick, P. Diddy, Tom Sizemore, and more, but among the best of the best is "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, who played the wrestler known as "Da Maniac" in the hit FX comedy series. First appearing in the episode "The Gang Wrestles for the Troops," Piper really gives his all to the character, who is a down-on-his-luck amateur wrestler who works in the local Philly circuit. It looks like he might live out of his car and he tries to sign autographs on parking tickets, but he's pretty good at the whole wrestling thing (and he's a fantastic Invigiron berry pill salesman!).

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is a beloved show with millions of adoring fans, but you don't get to be one of the most boundary-pushing comedies on air without ruffling a few feathers. Although the gang is larger than life, many of the characters draw inspiration from real people, particularly in their names. A few of the main and recurring characters in the show are named after real-life people like celebrities, close friends of the series creators, or the actors that portray them. Unfortunately, not everyone was flattered by their namesake.
The proprietors of Paddy's Pub are pretty darn despicable, but some of the show's minor characters are even less likable. The McPoyles are among some of the most repulsive characters in the show, and their sweaty, unibrowed, incestuous family often finds itself at odds with the gang. "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is an irreverent comedy full of despicable characters. So when Mac came out after years of allusions to his homosexuality, audiences weren't sure what that would mean for the beloved character. Would this mean that Mac, who was always a gun-toting Christian, would transform into a bleeding-heart liberal overnight? Or, worse, would he become a caricature of queerness and epitomize its stereotypes? Thankfully, the "Sunny" creators found a happy medium for their treatment of Mac's sexuality, which was crystallized in his elaborate dance number in "Mac Finds His Pride."
Series co-creator and star Rob McElhenney explained his character's delicate coming out to Entertainment Weekly in 2019:
"I think making sure that we are very careful to not change the fact that Mac is an abhorrent person [...] That is true inclusion, as opposed to saying he's come out and now all of a sudden he's this great guy.

Of the many secondary characters in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," none has had quite as much interaction with the gang as Matthew "Rickety Cricket" Mara. The character first appeared in the season 2 episode "The Gang Exploits a Miracle," where fans got to know him as a former high school classmate of the younger members of the gang who had an intense infatuation with Dee (Kaitlin Olson). Called "Rickety Cricket" because he wore leg braces throughout high school, he had gone on to become a priest, but his reunion with the gang led him on a downward spiral that would lead to him becoming a drug-abusing pimp with burn-related facial scarring who lives under a bridge. Over the years, he's debased himself in just about every way, making "Sunny" fans double over with laughter in the process.
Unfortunately for the guy who plays him, it's apparently a pretty thankless job,...

The main characters of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are so outrageous they seem like they couldn't possibly be based in real life, and Frank is perhaps the strangest of them all. Portrayed by the incomparable Danny DeVito, Dennis and Dee's millionaire father chooses to move into their friend Charlie's tiny apartment and leave his upper-class lifestyle behind.
"He's got the Midas touch, but he misses living in squalor," DeVito explained in an interview with The New York Times. "The one line that got me hooked to do the show was that I had a scene with Charlie Day, and I say [...] 'Let me come and live with you, man. I miss living in this Bohemian style.'"

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had some wild guest stars over the years, from Guillermo del Toro to P. Diddy. Usually, the celebrities only appear for a single episode, but one Oscar nominee actually had a recurring role in season 2.

Former late-night talk show host David Letterman says he has partnered with fellow comedian Billy Crystal to acquire an Australian rugby team with the goal of launching a television docuseries.
Letterman made the apparent revelation in a YouTube video published on Thursday, in which he claimed to have purchased the South Sydney Rabbitohs, a professional rugby team that participates in the National Rugby League (Nrl). Team officials told a reporter with the Telegraph newspaper they have no knowledge of the apparent transaction.
Letterman said he was inspired by fellow comedians Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who purchased the Wrexham Association Football Club nearly four years ago. The club was promoted to the English Football League last April.
Reynolds and McElhenney brought Wrexham to an international stage through the television docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham,” which aired for two seasons on Disney-owned cable channel FX and is available to stream on Hulu.

Yaya (played by Camryn Jones) just wants to walk to school with her boyfriend. Living on the South Side of Chicago in a house overflowing with family members, the only thing that gets the exhausted teen out of bed every morning is knowing Dre (Travis Wolfe Jr.) will be waiting on her stoop. The only issue: her protective brother, Mouse (Victor Musoni), doesn’t approve. He thinks her friends aren’t a good influence — they show up late to school too often, eat too much junk food, and don’t pay enough attention to their surroundings. Mouse, clearly, just wants his little sister to be safe, get good grades, and live a better life, but by intimidating Dre, he’s unwittingly snuffing out her one spark of joy — joy that manifests itself via her favorite hobby: dance.
Yaya loves to dance, and “Me/We” — one of three entries in Sundance’s 2024 Pilot Showcase,...

Jared Hess’ Minecraft is leveling up again with new cast members Kate McKinnon and Jermaine Clement. In addition to McKinnon and Clement joining the cast, Domain is a co-financier of the feature adaptation of Minecraft.
Kate McKinnon and Jermaine Clement join previously announced cast members Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge. Cameras will roll in New Zealand, though the plot remains a mystery. The Minecraft movie is based on the hugely successful video game franchise, which allows players to explore a blocky, procedurally generated 3D world. They can mine and extract raw materials to craft tools and build anything their imagination can conjure up. A few short years after it launched, Microsoft acquired Mojang Studios, the video game company behind Minecraft, for a swift $2.5 billion.
