The dinosaurs still making films better embrace virtual reality, according to director Lucy Walker.
Her impressive roster of documentaries have earned her two Oscar nominations: One for her feature, “Waste Land,” and one for a short, “The Tsunami and The Cherry Blossom.” She was recently tapped to direct the followup to Wim Wenders’ “Buena Vista Social Club.” Filming “Buena Vista Social Club: Adios” sparked an interest in Cuban music and dance, which led Walker to make “A History of Cuban Dance,” a lively Vr short chronicling Cuban history through its many dance styles. The feature will also have an accompanying Vr film.
Walker is also currently a creator with Chris Milk’s Vr company, Within (formerly Vrse), a prolific production house making some of the most narratively compelling virtual reality films out there.
“I love using documentary films to take the viewer on a journey to a world they’re not physically in.

Update: First came the IMAX posters; now we have the real deal: a new, full-length trailer for Tomorrowland that amps up the action and brings a sense of menace to the fantastical goings-on. Click below to take a closer look. Take a touch of Wizard Of Oz, a dash of J.M. Barrie and a glint of The Jetsons and you’ve got… ah, who are we kidding? Tomorrowland is probably nothing like any of those, although with what exactly it is remaining more under wraps than a kid’s Christmas presents, you can’t blame us for having a guess. The movie has some new character posters that shed approximately zero light on the situation, but do at least feature George Clooney channelling Viper in Top Gun. Alongside Clooney's struggling inventor Frank Walker here are his younger incarnation played by Thomas Robinson, Raffey Cassidy as the mysterious Athena and Britt Robertson as hero-of-the-piece Casey Newton.

While Furious 7 continues to carry itself like a tricked-out money printing machine loaded with a super-charged V8 engine, the emotionally bittersweet component regarding the tragic passing of Paul Walker continues to define the film.s broader narrative. However, according to co-star, Vin Diesel, words from the late franchise star may be all the motivation necessary to carry on with an eighth film. (Although, the current film making a bajillion dollars also kind of helps.) In an interview with MTV News backstage at this weekend.s MTV Movie Awards, Vin Diesel would cap-off an emotional evening in which he gave tribute to his "brother Pablo," obviously referring to Paul Walker with some possible news on the series. It seems that Walker may have posthumously given the greenlight for an eight film in the Fast & Furious franchise by way of a personal guarantee. As Diesel recounts, Paul [Walker] used to say that...

Helix, Season 1, Episode 08: “Bloodline”
Written by Mark Thomas Haslett
Directed by Bradley Walsh
Airs Fridays at 10 Pm on Syfy
The entrance of Illaria and Constance Sutton last week introduced a greater threat to Arctic Biosystems and, by extension, the Cdc team. As she soon proved, even Dr. Hatake was not considered a loyal ally, which made things bad for him, particularly combined with Daniel learning the truth about his heritage. This week’s episode focuses on the group’s efforts to stave off the threat presented by Illaria, in an exciting episode that shifts the power dynamics, and forces Dr. Farragut into a number of drastic actions.
The uneasy alliance formed between Dr. Hatake and Dr. Farragut this week is a fascinating one. While Alan clearly still distrusts Hiroshi, the presence of Constance Sutton and Illaria has proven, without a doubt, that there are larger threats to be worried about,...

Season 2 of "House of Cards" is being released on Netflix in just a few short hours, when Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) scheming once again plays out over another 13 episodes as he assumes the office of the vice president.
Actor Michel Gill, who runs the country as President Walker on the political drama, tells Zap2it that Frank is "off and running" as the VP, though he can't divulge too much, under threat of bodily harm.
"I have this collar around my neck. It's an invisible fence collar. Anytime I say something, if I go off -- it zaps me," says Gill with a laugh.
He also laughs as we ask Gill about Walker's relationship with Frank as VP. "It's a great relationship, can't you tell? [laughs] But no, that's the thing -- from Walker's perspective, as all president's have, there is a pool of advisors, good and bad, and they pick and choose.

While family, friends and fans are mourning the tragic loss of Paul Walker, some media outlets are shockingly trashing the late actor, 40, who died in a fiery car crash on Nov. 30.
This was the last thing we would ever expect to happen after the death of Paul Walker. The actor, who died from a combination of both traumatic and thermal injuries, is now being criticized by some of the largest media outlets. It’s so horrific and in such bad taste.
Paul Walker’s Death Causes Negativity In Press
In New York Times‘ article all about Paul’s tragic death, they looked back at his successful movie career, but also tastelessly threw in a few jabs.
Sequels followed and continued to attract audiences with over-the-top car chases, but he had trouble finding major success outside the franchise.

Kieren Walker may look like a self-loathing emo-teen, but that's just because he's been dead for four years. The three-part BBC Three drama In the Flesh tells the story of young Kieren's reintegration back into society. Along with thousands of other dead people, Kieren came back to life, precipitating some kind of zombie apocalypse. But, having undergone months of rehabilitation and taking special "de-zombie" meds (my description, not theirs), they are returning to their local communities and families. Here's a bit of the official synopsis: Now known as Pds sufferers (Partially Deceased Syndrome) - and since the passing of the Pds Protection act - the government have set an agenda of acceptance and tolerance, one that is at odds with the communities abandoned at the...

'Kid Dy-no-mite!' Jimmy Walker and his former 'Good Times' co-star Bern Nadette Stanis stopped by 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) for a mini-reunion. The two played brother and sister J.J. and Thelma Evans in the Norman Lear sitcom from 1974 to 1979.
Walker is still doing stand-up comedy after all these years, telling Joy Behar, "I've been on the road since 1967." Stanis is the author of the relationship book 'Situations 101.' While Walker may now be unrecognizable without his denim hat and afro, Stanis still looks and sounds just like Thelma.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently revealed that he has put all his film projects on hold until he figures out the mess he got himself into after having a child with the maid. But this isn't stopping Megan Ellison from pushing forward with a new "Terminator" movie, since she just won a bidding war to acquire the franchise. "Fast Five" director Justin Lin is already on board, and he is going from studios to studio pitching his vision for "Terminator 5." Apparently, Universal Pictures is very interest, but a deal has yet to be made. What's Playing website has learned that the new story will have a big part for Schwarzenegger, who has already attached himself to the project. It will have a twist on the original timeline, and will have a new, younger male lead. The site claims that Paul Walker's name keeps coming up during discussions. Spoilers follow...
1. Sydney Bristow - Alias (2001-2006)
Not only is Sydney the ultimate kick ass angel, she’s also a master of disguise (and many of them involved wearing little clothes), and speaks so many different languages that it was difficult to keep count.
Strangely enough, one of the best fights she was ever involved in was with her flatmate Francie’s doppelganger Allison Doren. Poor Francie had been murdered in her own restaurant and replaced by the evil lookalike. When Allison blew her cover by accepting Sydney’s offer of some coffee ice cream – ‘I just remembered…Francie doesn’t like coffee ice cream,’ says Allison, returning with a gun - a bruising encounter ensued.
The pair used everything against one another – their feet and fists, a heavy duty candlestick, glass doors, mirrors, a poker and even a drawer full of cutlery, until Sydney finally fired three shots into her nemesis.
