Wife Swap was a reality show that first appeared on ABC in 2004. The show’s premise involved two women from different backgrounds moving into each other’s homes and living with their new families for two weeks.
Cameras followed each family as the “new wife” tried to make changes in the new home and sometimes changed herself. In the end, the wives moved back with their families, who often learned from their new experiences.
Was ‘Wife Swap’ fake?
Many reality shows are said to be at least partially fake, and Wife Swap may be no different.
According to BuzzFeed, one user reported, “My sister was on an episode of Wife Swap. A lumberjack swapped with a burlesque dancer, and my sister was in the burlesque troupe who helped teach the lumberjack to dance. She said the lady was sweet, and all the drama was totally faked.”

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Tuesday’s Season 1 finale of “Cruel Summer.”)
The first season of Freeform’s “Cruel Summer” concluded on Tuesday with a truly jaw-dropping final twist that casts the entire show in a whole new light. It was Jeanette Turner all along.
“It was very important to us to tell a complete story and give the audience all the answers to the mysteries. So whatever that answer was, it had to be the most interesting answer possible,” showrunner Tia Napolitano said in an interview with TheWrap.
Kate (Olivia Holt) and Jeanette (Chiara Aurelia) make peace toward the end of the finale, after the realization that Mallory (Harley Quinn Smith) was the one who caught a glimpse of Kate while she was being held captive — not Jeanette. But the final image of Season 1 is of Jeanette doing so much worse.
“We just kept trying to beat what we had.

ABC‘s newest effort Killer Women is a mix of ideas that is difficult to nail down. Focusing on Texas Ranger Molly Parker (Tricia Helfer), the show is equal parts Longmire and Justified, which would be great, if you could stop there. Unfortunately, the show also throws in a splash of Scandal (in that it’s written like a glorified Telenovela), and a rather large scoop of, for lack of a better referent, Michael Bay (in that it has ludicrously unrealistic action scenes. That’s still something difficult to describe more thoroughly, and certainly something difficult to recommend.
The key problem with the show, apart from the nearly malicious waste of potential, is that it has to start somewhere, and this is a classic example of not knowing how to get out of the gates on solid footing.

Love Sarah Jones and am glad she’s quickly back in a new show after Alcatraz folded. Word is that the exquisite actress will be headed to CBS and their new show Vegas. In doing so she’s joining a cast that isn’t at all lacking as it is, already featuring the likes of Dennis Quaid, Michael Chiklis, Carrie Ann Moss, and Jason O’Mara. Vegas is a period drama based on a 1960s Las Vegas Sheriff named Ralph Lamb (played by Quaid).
Deadline reports that Jones herself will portray the daughter of a powerful Chicago figure who teams up with Michael Chiklis’ Vincent Savino, a Windy City gangster with his eyes on Sin City, to keep the Vegas revenue flow steady back to Chicago.
Seems to be a lot of crime on tv, and more coming, but this one is interesting because the pilot is written by Nicholas Pileggi and Greg Walker.

I’m really sad about the low ratings Lone Star got for its premiere episode, because I loved the pilot and can’t wait to see more of this show. You should all tune in next week on September 27 for the next new episode of this show, because it has great characters and a really intriguing storyline. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you give it a chance. Fox has released promo photos for the September 27 episode, along with a synopsis, which you can view below.
Suspicions Grow On An All-new “Lone Star” On Monday, September 27, On Fox
In order to ease Clint’s suspicions regarding the new windfarm deal, Bob recruits the man who taught him everything about being a con man to help him with the scheme: his father. Meanwhile, Lindsay begins to realize that she may not know Bob as well as she thought,...

Chicago – In a world where it’s becoming increasingly difficult for many people to hold one job or keep together one family, it’s not hard to see audiences entertained by watching a man try to juggle two of each. Such is the story of “Lone Star,” a very promising Fox soap opera that could be a breakout hit of the season if it survives one of the toughest time slots of the week.
Television Rating: 4.0/5.0
With a pilot directed by Marc Webb (“(500) Days of Summer,” the “Spider-Man” reboot in pre-production), “Lone Star” fills a hole in the broadcast network schedule that you might not have even realized was there. The broadcast schedules have been overrun with procedurals (“NCIS,” “CSI”), reality shows, or high-concept dramas that want to be the next “Lost.” The result has been the disappearance of a genre that used to rule the ratings — the adult soap opera.

In the next day or two I’ll finalize my thoughts on why Fox‘s Lone Star is one the shows you don’t want to miss this fall, but for now I have what I think turned out to be an insightful Q & A interview with James Wolk and Amy Lippman. Lippman is an executive producer on the show, and Wolk stars as Robert/Bob Allen.
Whatever else you may be thinking going into this show, it’s hard to dismiss the difficulty of the project. There’s a lot to pull off when you have a show with a conman leading two lives, not the least of which is just getting him to come through as likable and/or watchable. This show manages it all quite well, and I recommend you tune in.
The show premieres Monday, September 20th 9/8c, and let me give you the quick rundown before jumping into the interview.

Chicago – Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford seem like a pair of good guys in real life and the creator of their new show (Matt Nix of “Burn Notice”) has definitely been more-than-good in the past but their new action series, “The Good Guys” might be more correctly titled “The Mediocre Guys,” although that’s not quite as catchy.
Television Rating: 2.5/5.0
On “The Good Guys,” debuting tonight, May 19th, 2010 on Fox, Hanks and Whitford play a pair of Texan cops who are cut from the classic oil-and-water buddy comedy cloth. Hanks plays the buttoned-up Jack Bailey while Whitford plays the unbuttoned Dan Stark. Bailey longs for a more high-profile gig than chasing down stolen humidifiers while Stark barely lives a sober moment, more focused on his mustache grooming than anything else. Jenny Wade plays Assistant District Attorney Liz Traynor while Diana Maria Riva co-stars as Lt. Ana Ruiz.
