Has anyone ever seen the TV adaptation of Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years? I recently bought the 80s TV series of The Secret Diary and Growing Pains of Adrian Mole, and it wasn't bad at all, I might have done have a few things differently, but it wasn't an insult to the books.
Is Cappuccino Years worth watching? I'd have to order the DVD from a site for about £10, so if it was total rubbish, can someone tell me? I'm not someone who will watch any old crap, especially when I'm paying for it. By the way I'm not a Stephen Mangan fan, I don't hate him (although he's slightly annoying on those credit card adverts), I've just not seen enough of him to really form an opinion on him, so don't say it's worth watching just because he's in it (unless he's really damn good in it). But was he well cast as the enponymous Mole?
I'd very much appreciate some balanced thoughtful comments, I'm not expecting any essays, but I'd like to read something that doesn't look like it was written in about 5 seconds, not things like "Mangan is so funny in Green Wing, you should watch this" or "Nah, it wuz sh*te".
Thanks.
