Although, technically, Malory wrote "Le Morte D'Arthur" in Middle
English, his Middle English, unlike Chaucer's, is virtually
indistinguishable from Shakespeare's Elizabethan English, because of
the way the language had changed between the late fourteenth and late
fifteenth centuries.
