“Great to See You Again Kate,” bellowed The Sun on its March 19 cover.
The British tabloid newspaper had good reason to shout, having just won a bidding war for a grainy amateur video it asserted was of Kate Middleton “pictured out in public with husband William for the first time since undergoing surgery in January.”
The “royal world exclusive” hadn’t come cheap. According to sources in the British tabloid industry speaking to Variety, The Daily Mail had been willing to pay more than £100,000 for the video of the royals leaving a farm shop — shot on an iPhone by member of the public through a car windscreen — but ultimately The Sun emerged victorious with a larger, unknown bid.

Exclusive: After four seasons starring as Blake Gallo, Alberto Rosende is set to exit from Chicago Fire following a final appearance in the Season 12 premiere, Deadline has learned. Sources say his departure from the Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television drama was fully amicable.
Rosende debuted on the hit NBC series in the second episode of Season 8 titled, “A Real Shot In The Arm,” as a reckless new candidate for Firehouse 51 who impressed, yet frustrated his colleagues. He was initially cast in a recurring capacity but was upped to regular in 2019, as Deadline reported exclusively.
Kara Killmer, who played Sylvie Brett since Season 3, is also set to leave Chicago Fire in Season 12. And although fans will see two fan favorites move on, they can count on the return of Taylor Kinney, who returns next season following a leave of absence.

Remember "The Full Monty," friends? The British comedy from director Peter Cattaneo and "Slumdog Millionaire" writer Simon Beaufoy earned critical acclaim across the board for its funny and charming story about six unemployed men, including four former steel workers, who decide to form a male striptease act in order to get through some tough times. The film went on to land Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Musical or Comedy Score, even though it only won the latter.
Now, "The Full Monty" will have a chance at winning a whole new slate of awards because it's getting a sequel TV series at FX (on Hulu) with original cast members Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Lesley Sharp, Hugo Speer, Paul Barber, Steve Huison, Wim Snape, and Tom Wilkinson all reprising their roles from the movie. FX today released the trailer for its limited series reboot of the Oscar-winning 1997 British box office smash “The Full Monty,” a 100-second teaser that features returning cast members Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Lesley Sharp, Hugo Speer, Paul Barber, Steve Huison, Wim Snape and two-time Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson along with Talitha Wing, who plays Carlyle’s teenage daughter. The eight-part series will stream en masse exclusively on Hulu beginning June 14. (See trailer above.)
The new “Full Monty” picks up 25 years after the original movie, following the same band of brothers as they navigate the post-industrial city of Sheffield, England and society’s crumbling healthcare, education and employment sectors. The comedy-drama will uncover what happened to the gang after they put their kit back on, exploring their brighter, sillier and more desperate moments. It will also highlight how the world of these working-class heroes – still residing in Sheffield – has changed in their intervening quarter-century.

Robert Sheehan made his acting debut with the 2003 historical drama "Song For a Raggy Boy" and has been a staple on the big screen ever since. The Irish actor rose to prominence with memorable roles, such as Nathan Young in the British sci-fi series "Misfits," Darren Treacy in "Love/Hate," and Simon Lewis in "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." But Sheehan is currently wowing viewers with his turn as Klaus Hargreeves in Netflix's "The Umbrella Academy."
Even though Sheehan has been acting since his teenage years, the now-34-year-old actor has managed to stay out of the limelight when it comes to his personal life. He has only ever been linked with one of his former costars in his nearly two-decades-long career. Here's a complete overview of Sheehan's dating history through the years.

“Waterloo, Making An Epic: The Spectacular Behind-the-Scenes Story of a Movie Colossus”
By Simon Lewis (BearManor Media), 534 pages, illustrated (B&w), Hardback, Paperback & Ebook, Isbn 978-1-62933-832-3
Review By Brian Hannan
One would think that a film that flopped as dramatically as Waterloo would scarcely deserve a book as superb as this. In quite extraordinary detail, author Simon Lewis discusses every aspect of the making of the film, from initial set-up to release, by way of analysis of dozens of separate scenes through to rarely discussed elements like the editing and mixing, and even the myth of the missing longer version and the importance of wooden boxes. It might have helped the movie’s commercial chances, and not put too much of a dent in the ultimately massive budget of $26.1 million if producer Dino De Laurentiis has snagged original dream team...

As the coronavirus pandemic wreaks havoc on film release schedules around the globe, displacing many titles from their natural theatrical environment, a few have instead found their spiritual home on the small screen. “Four Kids and It,” a lightweight British kids’ fantasy, falls firmly in the latter column. Always intended as a multiplatform release in the U.K. through the Sky Cinema network, it has instead taken the VOD-only route on the eve of what would have been the Easter school vacation — making it a welcome diversion for families going stir-crazy under national lockdown. But it also flatters the limitations of Andy De Emmony’s blandly chipper film, which feels, both tonally and aesthetically, more suited to afternoon children’s TV schedules than any venue larger than a living room.
That’s a somewhat disappointing outcome for a family film with a sparky literary pedigree. “Four Kids and It” is...

Freeform’s fantasy drama series Shadowhuners will be ending after its current third season. While the cable network has opted not to pick up a fourth season, it will give fans closure, ordering two extra episodes that will wrap the story. The expanded 12-episode final season, dubbed Shadowhunters: The Final Hunt, is set to air in spring 2019.
Freeform originally ordered a 10-episode third season, later ordering 10 back episodes. Season 3A wrapped its run May 15. While there had been no premiere date for Season 3B but those episodes are already in the can, so the only way to get a proper ending for the series was for Freeform to greenlight a finale.
That way the series also will cover all Mortal Instruments books, on which it is based. The current third season goes over books 4 and 5; the two-hour finale will be based on the sixth and final novel in the series.

Last week’s Shadowhunters left us with a million questions, a few of which were (more or less) answered during Tuesday’s episode.
For starters, we found out more about Lilith’s backstory, as well as why she chose Jace to be her “Owl.” But I’ll let her explain that:
For thousands of years, I was unable to bear a child. Then Valentine came to me and asked for my blood for his unborn son. I knew that my boy would be far too powerful for a mere Shadowhunter to raise. So he eventually sent him to me. And...

Simon needs to get over his crush on Clary. Like right now!
He's been pining after her for two seasons and never made his move. And for the first time in a long while, he ends up on a date with a great woman on Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 7. Maia (played by Alisha Wainwright) is a perfect catch.
I'm not saying it's Clary's fault. She didn't lead him on or toy with him purposely. This is all Simon's doing.
Ever since the first season, it was painfully obvious he loved Clary. Clary, on the other hand, only looked at Simon as her best friend while she chased Jace. None of this is new information – he knows this.
Sure, Clary did look a bit jealous when she found out about Simon's date with Maia. We were teased that Maia would cause tension for this friendship. But that's just it, they're friends and incredibly close.

Three charmless chancers move between hemispheres dodging sex traffickers and leaving plots lying around in this back-to-The-Beach druggy annoyance
This Brit indie returns us kicking and screaming to that millennial moment when any passing Guy Ritchie wannabe might have pitched something along the lines of Danny Boyle’s The Beach. Here, it’s director Charles Henri Belleville, reducing Simon Lewis’s 1999 novel Go to a threadbare endeavour concerning the non-funny, non-sexy, non-thrilling misadventures of three charmless chancers – headed by a perma-chewing Robert Sheehan – fleeing violent sex traffickers on sandy South Indian shores. Belleville cranks up the colour saturation and ironic Yuletide soundtrack, but all his slo-mo hedonism can’t disguise an otherwise addled story treatment: we chop haphazardly between hemispheres, leaving characters and subplots treading crystal blue water. Doubtless a nice holiday; shame about the movie.

Shadowhunters‘ Simon Lewis has a brand new bag — of blood, that is.
Clary’s bespectacled bestie finally transitioned into a vampire on last night’s Shadowhunters, and while Simon might be repulsed by his new set of fangs, Alberto Rosende is thrilled that he finally gets to talk about it.
“It was really difficult to keep quiet for so long,” Rosende tells TVLine. “It’s such a big part of who he is for the entire saga, so I’m happy to talk about it incessantly for the next two months. It feels really good.”

Max Irons and Sam Neill have joined the cast of ITV's event series "Tutankhamun".
Peter Webber ("Emperor") will direct and Guy Burt ("Jekyll and Hyde," "The Borgias") is writing all the episodes of this epic story of Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb.
Starting from 1905, Carter (Irons) was an eminent British archaeologist in his twenties whose license is revoked by Cairo's Antiquities Service.
After years spent broke and ostracised, a chance meeting with the dashing British aristocrat Lord Carnarvon (Neill) begins an unlikely friendship. The pair ultimately discover the last resting place of the boy-king in 1921 against all odds and at great personal expense.
Francis Hopkinson and Catherine Oldfield will executive produce and Simon Lewis will produce. Filming will take place in South Africa during the winter and early 2016.

When Taylor Swift’s music video for “Wildest Dreams” debuted during the MTV Video Music Awards, I wondered if the uncomfortable undertones of British Colonialism would ping the Internet’s controversy radar. It took a few days, but it finally happened. And — as always with a thorny issue like white imperialism — the lines were drawn in deep in the sand. On NPR, native Kenyan and Ugandan authors Viviane Rutabingwa and James Kassaga Arinaitwe discussed the sting of seeing the fantasy of white colonial Africa play out yet again. Swift has played dress-up in loosely defined historical time periods before. “Love Story” ostensibly takes place in medieval times while “Mean” oscillates between Vaudeville and the 1950s. So without any context — thanks public education! — for exactly how much the pop culture ideal of early 20th-century Africa is whitewashed, the glamour of playing Elizabeth Taylor Light™ in an “exotic” location probably (egregiously) seemed like harmless fun.
