role in the cult stage hit "Women Behind Bars.".
Her beloved infamous stage role as the Matron in the cult L.A. production
of "Women Behind Bars" was a direct take-off on Hope Emerson's grotesque
role in the acclaimed women's prison film Caged (1950).
