Elvis Presley acted in his first film in 1956 and continued to work consistently as an actor until 1969. Though Elvis saw himself as a singer first, he appreciated the work he did on film sets. Over time, though, his enjoyment of acting waned. Elvis’ stunt double believed one movie in particular marked a negative turning point in the singer’s film career.
Elvis’ stunt double said one film changed the singer’s career for the worse
In 1964, Elvis starred in Kissin’ Cousins, a comedy musical. The film’s director, Gene Nelson, said Elvis was a hard worker and always brought a positive attitude to set. Still, Elvis was embarrassed about the quality of the story and his appearance. He also did not appreciate the rushed filming schedule.
“Up until that time certain standards had been maintained, but it seems to me from Kissin’ Cousins on, we were always on a short schedule,...

It's been nearly forty years, but people still remember "The A-Team." The action adventure series went on for five seasons, but stuck around in the public consciousness for much, much longer. People still remember the theme song, the cartoonish violence, the catchphrases. But although many viewers throughout the 2000s wanted a revival of the show, the TV series itself never came back.
Instead, we got a feature film in 2010 starring an updated A-Team, with the characters being veterans of the Iraq War instead of veterans of Vietnam. The film underperformed at the box office, however, and they never made a sequel. Unlike "21 Jump Street," a franchise where the later movies have now long-since overshadowed the TV show for most younger viewers, when people of all ages today think of "The A-Team," they're still almost certainly thinking of the show.
So what have the cast members been up to since...

Watch any classic movies, and there’s a good chance you’ll see someone who got famous down the line. A future pop star appeared as a dancer in Elvis Presley’s Viva Las Vegas. That was far from the end of her career on the big screen.
‘Mickey’ singer Toni Basil danced to a Ray Charles song in Elvis Presley’s ‘Viva Las Vegas’
Toni Basil is a dancer and choreographer who’s most known for her No. 1 single “Mickey.” In a 2014 Facebook post, she discussed her experiences on the set of Viva Las Vegas. “Over the months of rehearsing with Anne-Margret and Elvis Presley, [choreographer] David Winters and I became close friends with them,” she recalled.
“David the choreographer and I worked on many musical numbers for this film,” Basil added. “Here’s ‘What’d I Say’ where I got to be the girl with the red dress on.

Elvis Presley‘s music and style were heavily featured throughout the television series Happy Days. The series, which focused on the decades of the 1950s and 60s, was a throwback to simpler times. The music reflected the eras and included some of Presley’s greatest hits. However, as the series’ cast ended its 11-season run, one Presley song took on a different meaning as it closed the book on the lives of the Cunningham Family and their friends.

The final Happy Days episode wrapped up over a decade of stories surrounding Howard and Marion Cunningham (Tom Bosley and Marion Ross), their children Richie (Ron Howard) and Joanie (Erin Moran), and their friends.

After he delivered two raunchy misfires in a row with Your Highness and The Sitter, it’s gratifying to see director David Gordon Green return to the same kind of quiet, low-key dramas that put him on the map. And with an extremely limited cast and one constant backdrop, Prince Avalanche is perhaps Green’s quietest, lowest-key film yet.
Its commitment to the abstract is sometimes maddening, and its glacially slow pace is likely frustrating enough to alienate some viewers. However, I found Prince Avalanche remarkable in its ability to transfix me with the simplest of resources: two soulful performers, nature as a nonintrusive setting, feather-light direction and a minimalistic script. As it wanders along, the film possesses a strange, poetic charm that defies explanation.
As the film opens, we learn about a forest fire in the late 1980s that tore through the Texas wilderness, reducing trees and homes to ashes.

Prince Avalanche is the eighth feature film from director David Gordon Green, and though it's far from his best work, it's further evidence that he's one of the more interesting filmmakers to emerge from the American indie scene. Green's back catalogue is split between thoughtful dramas (see George Washington, All the Real Girls) and the kind of knockabout stoner comedies that shuffle through Team Apatow regulars Rogen, Franco, McBride et al.
These diverse stylistic paths overlap in his latest film Prince Avalanche, a remake of the small-scale Icelandic film Either Way. David Gordon Green’s Prince Avalanche was one of the many promising films debuting at Sundance at the start of the year, coming away with very positive reviews to match the anticipation.

Chicago – Take actors Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, make them highway line painters, put them in a fire-ravaged woodland and the makings for a savory two character portrait is realized in “Prince Avalanche.” David Gordon Green adapted and directed this appealingly offbeat art film.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
The weird story is given oxygen through Rudd and Hirsch, who have a vital yet frustrating chemistry through the film’s journey. They both seek redemption, but they refuse to go in the proper direction towards that absolution. They are absolutely oil and water, and must live together through a monotonous existence of painting highway lines and driving each other crazy. The film also has symbolic shades of the stage play “Waiting for Godot” and the film “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” and uses devices such as two old people in mysterious and enigmatic ways.

Chicago – Director David Gordon Green has created a variety of popular and revered movies – from his breakthrough “George Washington” (2000) to his latest, the uniquely titled “Prince Avalanche.”
Green’s new film features Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch as two co-workers in a remote environment, trying hard not to get along.
Green is influenced by his Southern roots, having been born in Alabama and raised in Texas. After studying film at the North Carolina School of the Arts, he made his debut with the acclaimed independent feature, writing and directing “George Washington.” From there he has adapted and directed serious dramas – “All the Real Girls” (2003) and “Snow Angels” (2007) – and comedies like “Pineapple Express” (2008), “Your Highness” (2011) and “The Sitter” (2011). Green also is a producer and director on the cult HBO comedy series, “Eastbound & Down.”

Title: Prince Avalanche Director: David Gordon Green Starring: Paul Rudd, Emile Hirsch, Lance LeGault Deeper meaning rises sneakily to the surface in the offbeat, austere “Prince Avalanche,” writer-director David Gordon Green’s re-imagined, loose adaptation of a 2011 Icelandic film, “Either Way.” A posed man-child statement of surprisingly substantive feeling, the film connects easily and most readily as a quaint little comic bauble — an odd-couple tale with slow-peddled seriocomic detail — largely because of its two affable stars, Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, and the uniqueness of its desolate setting. In savvy fashion, though, this meditative film makes an unexpected statement. The movie unfolds in rural Texas in 1988, in [ Read More ]

Director David Gordon Green makes his way back to the indie world that gave him his start, years before "Pineapple Express" and "Your Highness" turned his head with "Prince Avalanche." The comically dry dramedy smoothly fits into the career that produced "All the Real Girls," "Undertow" and "Snow Angels."
It's a "Waiting for Godot" set in the solitary work and lives of two highway line-painters. Alvin (Paul Rudd) is troubled, in the wilderness of a recently burned-out forest in a remote corner of Texas to "reap the rewards of solitude." Lance (Emile Hirsch) is Alvin's girlfriend's chatty, nervous brother, an aimless skirt-chaser in need of a job and some focus in life.
And when the film begins, more than six minutes pass before they exchange a word. They paint fresh lines on a scorched road and glue down reflectors in between the lines. Alvin insists they listen to Portuguese language...

Paul Rudd looks stupid smoking a cigar in a new clip from director David Gordon Green's latest indie, "Prince Avalanche." Thoughts by Tsr: It’s occasionally the case that Emile Hirsch is my least favorite part of things. His fine work in Milk is certainly an exception, but he lagged significantly behind Matthew McConaughey, Juno Temple, Gina Gershon, and Thomas Haden Church in my beloved Killer Joe. So when I say that he’s my least favorite part of this trailer for Prince Avalanche it probably sounds like a slight. Not true. It’s merely because in this two man show, Paul Rudd flexing in Hirsch’s face stands supreme.
They truly do look wonderful together, though, and I love their sweetly antagonistic relationship throughout. Rudd gave a lovely, sensitive performance in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I hope he continues doing smaller, less overtly comedic stuff...

Magnolia Pictures has released the trailer for “Prince Avalanche” starring Paul Rudd, Emile Hirsch, and Lance LeGault. Film is based on the 2011 Icelandic movie “Either Way.”

Magnolia Pictures has released a new trailer for director David Gordon Green’s (George Washington, Pineapple Express) low-key Prince Avalanche. In what looks like a not-so-typical buddy comedy, Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch star as two co-workers who spend their summer repainting traffic lines in the middle of country highways. Although that description sounds pretty bland, Prince Avalanche received great reviews when it made its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Hit the jump to watch the trailer, and click here to read our review from SXSW. Prince Avalanche will be available in theaters and VOD on August 9th.

Debuting at Sundance this year to very positive early reviews, David Gordon Green’s Prince Avalanche is definitely a film I can’t wait to see this year.
With Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch leading the cast, and solid reviews already surrounding the film, it’s a no-brainer. And with its August Us release date very much on the horizon, we’ve got a great new trailer and poster to share.

After helming a couple of big-budget studio comedies, David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Your Highness) returns to Sundance with a smaller and sweeter comedy gem. This was an unconventional film all around for the writer/director who started with the title - which bares no meaning, he...

If you're excited at the very idea of David Gordon Green making an indie movie again, you'll definitely like "Prince Avalanche" [premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival].
For those who don't know, Green burst onto the indie scene back in 2000 with the critically acclaimed, but microscopically released, "George Washington" and followed-up with a series of well-regarded low-budget films. "All the Real Girls" (starring a pre-"New Girl" Zooey Deschanel) and "Snow Angels" (with Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale), both debuted at Sundance. "Undertow" (with Jamie Bell, Josh Lucas and Dermot Mulroney) premiered at the Toronto and New York film festivals.
Then Green broke into the mainstream with the Judd Apatow-produced "Pineapple Express." Lesser studio efforts "Your Highness" and "The Sitter" followed. After his guerrilla-style experience shooting last year's Clint Eastwood/"Halftime in America" Super Bowl commercial, Green decided to get some friends together and make a movie cheap, quick and quiet.
The result is the scruffy,...

Take a first (official) look at the upcoming comedy-drama Prince Avalanche, which comes from director David Gordon Green, and stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. They look like real road workers, that’s for sure! In case you’re not so familiar with this project, I will first inform you that the movie is actually a remake of the Icelandic film Either Way, and that it will premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival next month.
Written and directed by David Gordon Green, Prince Avalanche centers on two highway road workers Alvin, played by Rudd, and Lance, played by Hirsch, who spend the summer of 1988 away from their city lives.
An odd couple of sorts, meditative and stern Alvin and his girlfriend’s brother, Lance, dopey and insecure, leave the city behind to spend the summer in solitude repainting traffic lines down the center of a country highway ravaged by wildfire.

So far during the ongoing “A-Team Week” festivities, we’ve taken a look at the new B.A. Baracus and “Howlin’ Mad” Murdock. But as everyone knows, no group of kind-hearted vigilantes is complete unless they have a villain to fight.
Those of you who remember the original “A-Team” television series might recall that although they fought many different enemies, their greatest adversary was Colonel Decker (played by Lance LeGault), a member of the military police who hunted them for three of their five seasons. Recently, we caught up with director Joe Carnahan, and he implied that while his new movie won’t feature Decker, its storyline sets him up for the sequel.
“We took the Lynch character who was in the army,” Carnahan said of the villain in the new film, played by Patrick Wilson and based on the Colonel Lynch character glimpsed in early “A-Team” episodes before Decker replaced him.

A little sliver of bad news for fans of "Werewolf". We won't be seeing it in stores as planned on September 1st from Shout Factory! Don't get too broken up though; the delay is not a long one.
According to TVShowsOnDVD the five-disc DVD set has been pushed back about a month for an October 6th release.
The site also learned what a couple of the included special features will be. Fans can expect two featurettes for sure with more likely to come. Look for -- The Man Who Was Alamo Joe with actor Lance LeGault and To Build a Better Werewolf with make-up F/X coordinators Greg Cannom and Gino Crognale to be tantalizing your supplemental bone. More soon!
Thanks to Dread Central reader Amatsu Mikaboshi for the heads-up!

Getting the The A-Team movie off the ground has been as challenging as getting Mr. T's character, B.A. Baracus, on a plane. Now, with the release date set and a new director and scriptwriter in place, the project's finally coming together.
The A-Team, a hit TV show for NBC that ran from 1983 to 1986, stars George Peppard as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith; Dirk Benedict as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck; Dwight Schultz as Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock, and Mr. T as Sgt. Bosco "B.A." (Bad Attitude) Baracus. The group of ex-Vietnam vets are constantly on the run for a "crime they didn't commit" while trying to help those in need.
Rounding out the cast in varying seasons are Melinda Culea, Marla Heasley, Eddie Velez, William Lucking, Lance LeGault, Carl Franklin, Jack Ging, and Charles Napier, with series narration by John Ashley.
