Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Paul Ledoux began writing for the theatre
in Montreal where his play, The Electrical Man, won the Quebec Drama
Federation award for best play (1975). He is one of Canada's most
produced creators of musical theatre and has worked extensively in both
television and radio drama as a writer, director, and producer.
Selected credits include the series The Edison Twins, The Campbells,
Street Legal, The Pit Pony (supervising producer) and most recently the
documentary Here I Am, Denny Doherty and The Mamas and The Papas. Radio
drama credits include series for CBC's The Mystery Project; In The
Blood and the WGC Award nominated The Old Guy. He is known for
provocative explorations of the relationship between politics and
popular culture as exemplified by the Dora and Chalmers Award-winning
play Fire, (with David Young) and, most recently, The Bricklin (with
Allen Cole).the story of Canada's most famous automobile.
