Co-founder of the Youth International Party (Y.I.P., or "Yippie!") with
Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin, and is often credited with coining the group's
name.
Received an ACLU Uppie (Upton Sinclair) Award in May 2004 for
"dedication to freedom of expression".
Was the publisher/editor of the publication "The Realist", which ran
from 1958 to 1974 as a magazine, and from 1985 to 2001 as a
newsletter.
Published his memoir Confessions of a Raving, Unconfined Nut in 2004.
