Exclusive: UTA has signed actorJohn Magaro, who landed a Gotham Award nomination for his starring turn in Kelly Reichardt’s 2019 Western First Cow, for representation in all areas.
Magaro will next be seen on the film side in Celine Song’s drama Past Lives, opposite Greta Lee. He also stars opposite Michelle Williams in the Cannes-bound art world dramedy Showing Up, which reunites him with his First Cow director, Reichardt.
The actor is currently shooting a role in George Tillman Jr.’s as-yet-untitled George Foreman biopic for Sony. He recently played a supporting role in the Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark from Warner Bros. and New Line, which reunited him with David Chase following his role in Not Fade Away.

Nanrisa Lee (Bosch), Mason Alexander Park (Cowboy Bebop) and newcomer Caitlin Bassett are set as series regulars opposite Raymond Lee in NBC’s hourlong pilot Quantum Leap, a reboot of the beloved 1990s sci-fi drama.
Written and executive produced by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt and executive produced by Martin Gero as well as Quantum Leap creator/EP Don Bellisario and EP/co-narrator Deborah Pratt, the follow-up series is set in present time. It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.
Raymond Lee plays the lead, Dr. Ben Seong, a world-renowned physicist working on a time-travel project known as Quantum Leap who gets stuck in the late 1980s with amnesia after using the technology.

The “Quantum Leap” sequel series pilot at NBC has rounded out its main cast with three new additions.
Caitlin Bassett, Nanrisa Lee, and Mason Alexander Park have all joined the cast of the project. They join previously announced cast members Raymond Lee and Ernie Hudson.

Ava DuVernay’s superhero DC drama Naomi is rounding out its cast. In his return to the CW, former 7th Heaven star Barry Watson is set as a series regular, along with Mouzam Makkar (The Fix), Mary-Charles Jones (Kevin Can Wait), Aidan Gemme (Finding Neverland) and Daniel Puig (The System). Additionally, Amanda Marsalis has been tapped to direct and co-executive produce the pilot, from DuVernay’s Array Filmworks and Warner Bros. Television.
