"I heard that you had... had something to talk to us about." Gravitas Ventures unveiled an official trailer for an indie drama titled The Godfather Buck, another film from filmmaker Thomas J. Churchill. It will be out to watch in April. This one sounds like it it's all about the big twists and reveals. Two brothers, who meet once a year at a cabin in the woods in Big Bear to hunt white-tailed deer for a week, uncover hidden family secrets and lies when their stepbrother drops by for an evening, changing their lives forever. The film stars Frederick Keeve (who also wrote the script and produced), with Kyle Lowder, Indar Smith and Julie Eagleton. This one looks especially melodramatic and overly campy, with some impressively over-the-top performances and a doozy of a score in this trailer. Doesn't look great but you also just must see this trailer. Here's the...

Have you ever watched something you wanted to be good, so you allowed it to improve in your mind with each ongoing minute?
By eliminating, in our minds, the existence of all other films from the genre with which we ought to contrast, we hope a good story survives.
Such is the struggle of Dark Star's digital film release, The Accompanist..
Beautiful music, riveting ballet, breathtaking landscapes, and gorgeous cinematography utterly steer the focus. Remarkable stuff.
I wish I could end the review there.
I want to give utmost respect to the process, to the indie Lgbtq+ film community -- though we oughtn't need to label films as Lgbtq+ anymore -- and to the painful labors of love involved in writing and producing.
As an artist myself, I don't want to ream any project with such love and passion at its heart. It's very clear what the project means...

The dynamics between parents and children are always evolving, based on the unprecedented situations they find themselves in, but some tensions and conflicts may be more difficult to overcome than others. That’s certainly the case between Frederick Keeve and Christopher Pawl’s characters in the upcoming drama, ‘The Accompanist.’ The male ballet-inspired film, which is set […]
