Last month, it was announced that Patrick Wilson, who has starred in the likes of three Conjuring movies and three Insidious movies (one of which he directed), is producing a stage musical adaptation of Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys (watch it Here). Now that project is taking a big step forward, as Deadline has learned that there’s going to be an industry presentation of the show next month, with Frozen‘s Caissie Levy, Dear Evan Hansen‘s Nathan Levy, and & Juliet‘s Lorna Courtney having been cast in major roles. This private presentation is scheduled to be held on February 23rd – and even though only industry insiders will get to watch it, that’s enough to inspire the people behind the show to release a teaser trailer for what they’re calling The Lost Boys: A New Musical. You can check it out at the bottom of this article.

Exclusive: I’m hearing that Warner Brothers Theatrical Ventures is in for a major shakeup, one that will put former studio chief Alan Horn atop the studio’s theatricals division. I’ve heard that Gregg Mayday, who has long headed the studio’s stage ventures, is being let go, and that Raymond Wu will be elevated to the top slot. Word is that he might share the top job with another executive, and that a top candidate is Mark Kaufman. He’s the former New Line executive who moved with Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne when they started the production company Unique Features. But Kaufman was also the hands-on exec in the movie transfer of the hit stage musical Hairspray and the stage transfer of Elf, hatched from the hit New Line movie. I hear all this is imminent. Both execs will report to Horn, who retired as studio chairman last spring.

One of the nice things about being a gay horror filmmaker is, after you hang around awhile, you realize you’re part of a nice little club. And eventually, it feels like you all know each other.
I first met Jeffrey Reddick at a cast and crew screening of one of my films. Paul (Hellbent) Etheredge-Ouzts brought his friend “Jeffrey” to the screening, and we chit-chatted a bit afterward. On the way home my brain added up all the stuff we talked about, and suddenly it clicked—Was that the writer of Final Destination?
Since then we’ve become friends and, in the grand tradition of Hollywood, mainly see each other at screenings and conventions. He’s a busy guy, and kinda sorta has that career that many of us indie flick filmmakers dream of—access to the people who make it happen, and big(ger) budgets.

Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon are in final negotiations to star in New Line Cinema's comedy Four Christmases.
In the film, Vaughn and Witherspoon will play a couple who struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents' homes during the Christmas holidays.
The project is based on a screenplay by Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson. Producing are Spyglass Entertainment's Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jon Glickman. Vaughn and Witherspoon also will produce.
A director is not yet attached to the project, which is expected to be produced for release during fourth-quarter 2008.
New Line production president Toby Emmerich and production executives Mark Kaufman and Michael Disco will oversee the project for the company.
Christmases originally was picked up as a spec and set up at Sony Pictures, which eyed it for holiday release in 2004, but the project was put into turnaround when it conflicted with another holiday comedy, Revolution's Christmas With the Kranks. New Line picked it up in the fall with Adam Shankman attached to direct.
