In honour of National Coming Out Day on October 11, we’ve been thinking about a lot of our favourite Lgbt movies. From the modern-day rom-coms like “Love, Simon” all the way back to hard-hitting dramas like “Midnight Cowboy” – and everything in between – we’ve been debating which movies are our all-time favourites.
In light of this, I’ve put together my own personal list of my favourite Lgbt films – ‘my’ and ‘personal’ are the operative words here. This list is entirely my own opinion and personal preferences, this is not a definitive ranking of what are ‘the best’ Lgbt films. Merely, this is a list of which films resonated with me the most.
But please, join in the debate in the comment section and tell us about your favourite Lgbt films and why – and whether or not you agree with my own list. You may think I’m right, you...

For Dutch teenager Jasmine (Georgiefa Boomdijk), her homeland of Suriname (a northeastern South American country) is a footnote. She knows little about it or the mother she and her father Winston (Maurits Delchot) left behind sixteen years previously. He refuses to talk about anything pre-Netherlands so her sole connection is a photo of the woman she hasn’t yet resigned herself to believing she’ll never meet. So when a contest held across the Atlantic from where she lays her head asks for online submissions, Jasmine and her best friend Stijn (Floris Bosma) record a song and cross their fingers. Her birthright allows judge/organizer Fifty Fifty (Glen Faria) to take a chance and fly them there to compete. No one knows her true motivation is finding Mama Grace (Jaleeza Weibolt).

AMSTERDAM -- After a dry spell earlier this year, Dutch films are dominating the boxoffice in the Netherlands.
Three Dutch titles are among the four top-grossing films, Holland Film said Thursday. The three productions accounted for 51% of the total national boxoffice revenue of last weekend.
The romantic comedy "Love Is All" (Alles is Liefde), an Amsterdam-based take on the Brit hit "Love Actually", went straight to No. 1 with 266,000 admissions. After just four days of release, the film, directed by Joram Lursen, received the Golden Film Award from the Dutch Film Festival for passing 100,000 admissions.
The other two productions are family titles: "Timboektoe" and the children's film "Where Is Winky's Horse", a sequel to the highly successful "Winky's Horse", directed by Mischa Kamp.
