Fired from her first entertainment industry job at age 20, she defiantly vowed to be her own boss. By age 21 she was president of her own business, "International Marketing" the first independent company to help U.S.-based recording artists gain recognition around the world. She's been innovating ever since resulting in an unprecedented history of success as an female entrepreneur, advocate and business owner. Jones has built a leading music company and personally enjoyed success as an artist manager, marketing executive, music publisher, music supervisor and media producer. Jones' was most recently recognized as "Inspiration of the Year" by the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2015.
Jones's is Founder and CEO of Transition Music Corporation (TMC), ranked as one of the top 100 Music Publishers in the United States. TMC has acquired and monetized thousands of music copyrights with zero debt related to acquisition, and TMC-owned copyrights are available for global licensing via TMC's digital online production music library consisting of more than 300 genres and sub-genres. TMC music infuses all forms of visual media, including film, TV and commercials. Transition is the exclusive music provider for more than 26 television series and 9 channels & networks, resulting in more than 250,000 broadcasts annually and an estimated 1,000,000 performances globally. TMC's creative success has been honored with Emmy awards and more than 10 Platinum and Gold Records.
TMC formed Transition Media in 2014 where they are replicating their music success in media and marketing by producing message driven content designed to improve lives. In 2008 "Cambridge Who's Who" proclaimed her Executive of the Year for her contributions to Film & TV Music.
Jones' commitment to excellence extends beyond her entertainment career. Donna's a mother of two, Evyn 21 and Nicholas 16 (who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2). Devastated not just by the diagnosis, but how difficult it was to get help for her son she co-founded Special Needs Network (SNN) a leading advocacy organization, to help families impacted by autism in under-served communities. To provide support to families beyond SNN's reach she authors an online blog - Autismdaybyday, facing head on realities of living with Autism. The blog has more than 3 million readers and has become an official resource of the National Institute of Health. Jones produced first National PSA to address the dangers of autism related wandering, which went "Viral" in 2015. Her work in training videos & documentaries, includes "I Am Your Child" with Sylvester Stallone"; Dr. Brazelton's "Coping with Grief"; and Joey Travolta's "Normal People Scare Me" and served on state and local boards, including accepted an appointment on a CA Senate Committee chaired by Senator Steinberg. Jones has received Stated, Local and Congressional Recognition for her work in the special needs community.
