Expect lots of drama, plenty of laughs and possibly even a few superheroes in the building when Samuel L. Jackson hosts the 2012 Bet Awards on July 1, live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. On Tuesday (May 22), Bet announced the nominees for their 2012 awards show and even confirmed performances by Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj (though there was no official word on whether the Hulk will attend).
Bet president Stephen Hill held a press conference in New York City on Tuesday, and with the help of Big Sean, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, Diggy, Mindless Behavior and Melanie Fiona, he spilled the beans about the big show. Samuel L. wasn't in attendance, but "The Avengers" star sent a pre-taped message promising that the show will be "too big to miss.

How surprised was Wiz Khalifa to hear Kanye West name-drop him on his "Way Too Cold" single? "Very," the Taylor Gang captain told New York radio host DJ Funk Master Flex during an interview Monday night. " 'Cause he said my name. I've gone a long time without anybody actually saying my name out loud like that. It wasn't a bad thing."
When Yeezy dropped the track, which was then named "Theraflu," at the top of April, he thrilled fans with his fiery and off-the-cuff lyrics. On the song 'Ye professed his love for Kim Kardashian, threw a jab at her soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries and once again rapped about his ex-flame Amber Rose. But this time, West brought Rose's fiancé Wiz into the mix.

John Legend is bummed that his buddy and collaborator Kanye West isn't up for one of the biggest awards at the Grammys. The rapper and producer is the most nominated musician going into Sunday, but his work is missing from the coveted Album of the Year category.
"Well, I was rooting for Kanye and Jay-z [Watch the Throne] to be nominated for album of the year or Kanye's album [My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy] to be nominated for album of the year. So I'm a little disappointed that it's not," Legend told MTV News. "I really thought [Mbdtf] was the best work that was done in popular music this year, as far as a great album that you could listen to...

Kanye West performs at the Big Day Out festival in Australia on Sunday
Photo: Chris Hyde/Getty Images
It wasn't a delay on par with his 2008 Bonnaroo debacle — when he took the stage at roughly 4:30 a.m. (and then nearly destroyed his MacBook Air in the aftermath) — but at Sunday's Big Day Out festival in Australia, Kanye West was nearly 45 minutes late for his headlining slot. And, as you can imagine, folks weren't thrilled to be kept waiting.
According to reports, fans bided their time by breaking into numerous chants of "bullsh--" as they stood in the rain, and when West finally did appear, many wandered off to watch other acts like Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and My Chemical Romance. The Gold Coast Bulletin wrote that...
