Whitby Hertford was raised in Oak Park, California, and is an actor,
writer, and director. He studied at the University of Essex's East 15 as
a MFA theater-directing scholar and is a graduate of the University of
Utah's actor-training program conservatory. Whit began his career at
the age of three in Los Angeles, California. He is co-founder of the
independent-film entity Sneak Attack and artistic director of the
London-based theater company the Stage Standard. He is the brother of
Chelsea Hertford (Major Dad (1989), American Beauty (1999)) and Brighton Hertford
(General Hospital (1963) and The Work and the Glory (2004)).
A somewhat popular fan theory has speculated that Whit Hertford's character from the original Jurassic Park (1993) grew up to become Owen Chris Pratt from Jurassic World (2015). Whit has dismissed this theory, saying, "Guys like me don't grow up to look like Chris Pratt.".
Is a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles. Became a founding member and co-creator of the improv and sketch troupe The Attack!.
Is a classically trained and was artistic director of Shortcut Theatre Co., based out of Salt Lake City. He is a co-founder and current company member of L.A.'s the Stage Standard.
Played a young Stephen Pearcy on Ratts music video Lay It Down.
