A new episode of our Real Slashers video series has just been released through the JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel, and in this one we’re looking back at one of the most popular slasher sequels ever made: 1987’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (watch it Here)! To find out what we had to say about this one, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Chuck Russell from a screenplay that was initially written by Wes Craven and Bruce Wagner – and then given a substantial rewrite by Russell and Frank Darabont – A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors has the following synopsis:
During a hallucinatory incident, young Kristen Parker has her wrists slashed by dream-stalking monster Freddy Krueger. Her mother, mistaking the wounds for a suicide attempt, sends Kristen to a psychiatric ward, where she joins a group of similarly troubled teens. One of the doctors there is Nancy Thompson,...

This article contains mild The New Mutants spoilers.
The New Mutants is an odd duck. The writing was on the wall back in 2017 when 20th Century Fox first pushed the film off its original 2018 release window. Apparently the delay was the result of the studio wanting to make it more of a horror movie via reshoots… reshoots that then never happened.
Even so, those horror elements are still on bonkers display in Josh Boone’s final cut of the film, now available on Blu-ray and VOD. Even without knowing Boone was vocal that the Nightmare on Elm Street movies were cornerstone influences, it’s clear his mutant mayhem wants to live on the same block.
To be sure, these aspects are more muted than they should be, which is the result of the film’s biggest problem: tonal inconsistency. New Mutants veers wildly between young adult drama, youthful hijinks, and...

One of the most frustrating aspects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is the obstinate refusal of many people to follow the very simple guidelines put forward, as they whine about their civil liberties being curtailed by a few minor inconveniences put in place in the interest of preventing countless unnecessary deaths.
In response, and following horror legend Robert Englund’s “Wear your glove” PSA, various actors from throughout the Nightmare On Elm Street saga have come together to create a sinister yet effective public information video to remind people of the basic information imparted that will help stop the spread of infection.
It features an eerie chant by the series’ two most prominent stars, Heather Langenkamp and Lisa Wilcox (Alice from The Dream Master and The Dream Child), riffing on the infamous “One, two, Freddy’s coming for you…” skipping rhyme that’s repeated throughout the films and has wormed...

It's that wonderfully eerie time of year and Mondo is getting into the Halloween spirit! They recently revealed a few collectibles for A Nightmare on Elm Street, which is one of the greatest horror franchises of all time. These films are a blast to watch and I always enjoy watching one or two of them during this time of year.
They have released a vinyl box set featuring all of the soundtracks from all of the films in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. That box set comes with seven pieces of art for the films that were created by artist Mike Saputo. There are also two prints created by the same artist that have gone up for sale for A Nightmare on Elm Street and A Nightmare Elm Street 2.
You can find all of the information below that was released for the vinyl set and the two prints.

Many great horror icons are accompanied by scores that are just as haunting (and perhaps just as recognizable) as the characters they accompany, and that's especially true with the eerie, dreamlike sounds of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Containing the scores for the first seven films in the franchise that Freddy built, Mondo and Death Waltz's newly revealed Box of Souls 8-vinyl set includes chilling tracks remastered by James Plotkin, killer new artwork by Mike Saputo, and a 12-page booklet with reflections on the franchise from composers and cast members. You may never sleep again after listening to it...

Friday Night Frights at Cinefamily in Los Angeles held a Nightmare on Elm Street marathon over the weekend. On the program: Nightmare entries 1-7 (sorry, Freddy vs. Jason).
The event ran from dusk till dawn with very little interruption. Some of those involved in Dream Warriors swung by for a 20-minute Q&A before the film and I was able to capture it on video.
Via the video player here, watch Friday Night Fright's Josh Miller and Sebastian O'Brien talk with director Chuck Russell and stars Jennifer Ruben, Rodney Eastman and Ira Heiden about their time on the film, the auditions and working with Dokken.

I'm wagering that almost all of you know Chuck Russel's A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors like the back of your hand. For those who don't, it follows the story of a group of troubled, institutionalized teens who, in addition to fighting their own demons while awake, are being terrorized and killed by Freddy in their sleep. In addition, they all have special powers while in the dream world that allow them to take Krueger on. Kristen (Patricia Arquette) can pull other people into her dreams (as well as perform gymnastics). Kincaid (Ken Sagoes) has super strength. Recovering addict Taryn (Jennifer Rubin) is punk-rock beautiful and "bad" with her switchblades. Wheelchair bound Will (Ira Heiden) can walk and turn into the "wizard master"...

While traffic on Hollywood Boulevard is always a nightmare on any given night, it was the "Black Carpet Premiere" for Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare on Elm Street that really stopped traffic this past Tuesday evening, and of course Dread Central's red carpet team of Heather Wixson and Brian Smith were on hand to talk with cast members about their feelings on this new direction and vision of Freddy Krueger.
