Sean Bean will play a cop bent on revenge in a new Crackle drama called The Oath. In this series, Bean plays gang affiliated Tom Hammond, a cop who runs a gang who uses their authority to their own advantage. After a setup, Hammond is thrown in prison and removed as leader of his gang. The series will follow Hammond upon his release and show him going up against the same people he once thought were friends.
The series is executive produced by 50 Cent and will debut in 2018. I've never sat down and watched a Crackle series, but I just might for a gang drama focused on Sean Bean! What about you? Thanks to THR for the heads up. ...

Chicago – “Madden NFL 13” opens with a rousing monologue from everyone’s favorite justice-obstructing Ravens linebacker, Ray Lewis. Sitting in a dimly lit and smokey locker room, he extols the virtue of hard work, tenacity, and pride, as images from the prior NFL season are projected on the lockers before seamlessly transforming into footage from the game, highlighting its shiny new physics engine.
Video Game Rating: 4.0/5.0
For all it’s celebrated success, “Madden” has almost always been devoid of personality, and in this case, borrowed some of Ray Lewis’s for this grand opening sequence. However, the journey of this EA Sports cash cow has always been one of functionality, not poetry. Ever since buying out the competition with an exclusive NFL license that practically guarantees they get to create and release these games in a competition-less vacuum, the capitalist intentions of this venerable football franchise have preceded everything else. This year,...

When used correctly, music can add emphasis and depth to a scene; it's a partnership that has endured since the earliest days of film. On Wednesday, June 27, the Austin Film Society and the Austin Music Foundation co-hosted an event on the intersection. The "Music in Film in Music" panel addressed the common question, "How do I get music in film?"
Held at SoundCheck Austin at Austin Studios in a room full of musicians and filmmakers, the experience launched with a panel discussion that included musician Adrian Quesada of Grupo Fantasma, filmmaker Andrew Shapter (who served as moderator and flawlessly kept the discussion active), music supervisor Dominique Preyer and sound supervisor/mixer Tom Hammond.
Once the discussion kicked off, the audience focused on absorbing the essential ingredients required in the creative process of incorporating music in film. Shapter presented the audience with an example of how costly and...

The "folk/country dance" theme for ice dancing's second night of competition was just asking for trouble. Teams not wanting to play it safe by doing a style representative of their own country — or mainstream, like Spanish Flamenco or Indian — were going to get "creative." The best they could hope for was viewers tuning in and thinking they were watching that scene in The Cutting Edge when the pairs team got tripped up in the lederhosen; the worst would be if viewers stumbled upon the "aboriginal" original dance from Russia's reigning world champions Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin (pictured, left...

Ice dancing got underway Friday night in Vancouver with the U.S. hoping one of its two top teams will end the Russian domination of the sport and bring America its first gold medal in the discipline. If you tuned in for the compulsory dance — in which each couple skated the same Tango Romantica so they could be judged on technique head-to-head — you may have thought you were watching a costume contest (the quality of skating seemed so similar) until you caught a glimpse of Russia's reigning world champions Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin (pictured, left). They had the fire...
