From the early 1960s to 28 July 1968 when the network lost its franchise was a popular on-screen continuity announcer for ABC Weekend Television.
Disc Jockey with the BBC from 1973-1987.
Given the nickname "Diddy" by
Ken Dodd
, because of his diminutive stature.
Hamilton is his mother's maiden name.
As of 2021 he was Britain's longest-serving DJ, first broadcasting in 1959 and still presenting daily show on digital radio.
Was first inspired to get into broadcasting through his admiration of
Pete Murray
.
