The dilemma of a film like Stanley Nelson’s sweeping and emotionally-charged new documentary Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Historically Black Colleges and Universities is that any one of its rich stories — the founding of any Hbcu, the role they’ve played in the civil rights era, the role they play now as safe spaces for students of color arriving from high schools without students or teachers of color, the individual narratives of students that had attended or are attending them presently, the challenges faced by HBCUs today — could be its own stand-alone feature film. With that said, Tell Them We Are Rising is superbly crafted and in only 83 minutes provides an introduction to the history of HBCUs in America with interviews from students currently attending thriving schools like Spelman, Morehouse, and Howard.

The X Factor knows how to create drama. From the blast of 'O Fortuna' as Simon Cowell and his buddies enter the stage, to former voiceover man Peter Dickson hamming it up, they've got the atmosphere nailed.
One of the most exciting elements of the show will always be the big Sunday night eliminations, especially if the dreaded Deadlock comes into play. Most of the time, the judges get it right, but sometimes there are downright shocks. Here are the biggest to date, brought to you in association with TalkTalk's new Bopheads app:
1. Laura White (series 5)
Wigan lass Laura was tipped for X Factor success in 2008's early stages, but found herself in a tough girls group with the public's favourite indie fairy Diana Vickers and future victor Alexandra Burke. Even so, no-one expected her to leave as early as the fifth week, especially with Ricky Gervais lookalike Daniel Evans still knocking around.

It's official. Rita Ora is everywhere. Whether it's fronting fashion lines, popping up in TV advertising campaigns, mentoring hopefuls on The Voice UK and donning a dodgy wig in 50 Shades of Grey, the singer - like close friend Cara Delevingne - is a constant presence.
And now, it's been announced that along with Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and fellow newbie Nick Grimshaw, Rita will be joining the judging panel for The X Factor 2015.

Empire is huge. Massive. A phenomenon. The drama kicked off in the States earlier this year and quickly established itself as one of the biggest things on the box (seriously - over 23 million people tuned in to its finale last month. Twenty-three Million).
Now, we're finally getting a chance to see the show in the UK courtesy of E4, but is it worth the hype? Yes... and here are 7 reasons why you should be tuning in to the show...
1. The story is rooted in family - but we're talking mad, crazy, Dynasty-style family.
Make no bones about it - Empire is a soap. We're talking high glamour and high nonsense; it's a glossy whirlwind with surprise twists and 'rich people problems'. But while there's a shiny sheen to the whole thing, given that it's set in the world of hip-hop royalty, it's also firmly rooted in family.

The singer beat fellow finalist Lucy O'Byrne during tonight's (April 4) live final on BBC One.
Earlier this evening, Emmanuel Nwamadi and Sasha Simone claimed third and fourth place, exiting the competition after receiving the lowest amount of public votes when the phone lines were frozen.
McCrorie said: "I'm so lost for words right now. I can't thank everyone enough for doing this for me. I never thought this was possible.
"After tonight it gets down to business, the single is going to be out at midnight tonight. Everybody that has voted for me, just go and buy that single..."
McCrorie's debut single 'Lost Stars' will be released at midnight.

Emmanuel Nwamadi and Sasha Simone have finished in third and fourth place during tonight's (April 4) live final of The Voice UK.
The two acts received the lowest amount of public votes when phone lines were frozen, after each contestant performed twice.
This means that either Lucy O'Byrne or Stevie McCrorie will be crowned winner of the competition later in the show.
On hearing news of her departure, Simone said: "Well, a year ago... I wouldn't leave the house at all and if it wasn't for my sister signing me up I would never have got to [enjoy this experience].
"...Tom Jones. I love you with all my heart. Thank you for all you've done for me."
Nwamadi said to coach Ricky Wilson: "Thank you so much for believing in me... Thank you so much."

Rapper Charles Hamilton is in trouble with the law again - he has been arrested over allegations he attacked a police officer. The troubled rising hip-hop star hit the headlines in July after he checked into a mental institution in New York in a bid to try to deal with the stress of working in the music industry. He was subsequently released after a week following treatment in the hospital's psychiatric unit.
But Hamilton was arrested last week after he reportedly caused trouble at a series of bars in Cleveland, Ohio. He allegedly struck an officer who was investigating, resulting in an assault charge, according to AllHipHop.com. The rapper's bail has been set at $25,000, reports the website.
The rapper is due to release a second studio album next year called "My Heart".

Happy birthday to Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr., known better as dynamic genre-hopping rapper B.o.B. Even at the tender age of 22, B.o.B has already racked up an incredible body of work for himself, smoothly making the transition from underground mixtape favorite to chart-topping mainstream dynamo. His easy charisma and versatile flow have not only made him a player in the hip-hop world but also a crossover star in the pop and rock universes as well.
B.o.B grew up in Atlanta and quickly gained a reputation as a top-shelf rhymer in the local rap community. After a series of EPs and jaw-dropping guest appearances, he started to pick up mainstream buzz in 2009 (he was featured on the cover of Vibe magazine's "Class of '09" issue along with fellow up-and-comers Wale, Charles Hamilton and Asher Roth).
