According to William Stanford Davis, the Illuminati changed his life. In the pilot episode of “Abbott Elementary he appears as the mysterious janitor Mr. Johnson in front of a whiteboard with “Illuminati” written on it in big letters, telling a group of children: “That’s who runs the world, kids.”
Proof of the adage there are no small parts, Davis would continue to steal scenes with minimal screen time as Mr. Johnson because a fan favorite. Less than 18 months after that first appearance, the 71-year-old actor finds himself with his first series regular gig, a SAG Award for his work in the show’s ensemble and a favorite meme thanks to all of Mr. Johnson’s random quotes.
Davis isn’t nearly as gruff as Mr. Johnson, but he does share the character’s years of wisdom and has his own detailed history. He was the front man for the band The Fabulous Paramount Revue,...

After the power, presence and flash of Prince, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, U2 and Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime performances — not to mention the controversy of this weekend’s Maroon 5-Travis Scott spot — it’s hard to believe that the big game’s intermission show used to consist of college marching bands along with performers like the lily-white singing/dancing troupe Up with People and the late, great Carol Channing.
In retrospect, it’s surprising that it took 26 Super Bowls for people to realize the marketing potential a 12-minute show with an audience that is now estimated to be 100 million people — the single biggest audience for any musical performance on Earth. As the Stones, McCartney, Gaga and others have learned, it might be the best possible way to promote an upcoming tour.

“Sharp Edges” (as in blades) is the perfect title for a documentary about Tonya Harding. But who would have had the prescience to think of that title a decade before her infamy? Last year, when “I, Tonya” came out, there were those (like me) who flipped for it, and those who didn’t. The appearance this week of “Sharp Edges,” a documentary about Harding made in 1986, eight years before the incident that made her famous, isn’t likely to change minds in either camp. Yet as an “I, Tonya” believer, I watched this fascinating found object of a movie, directed by Sandra Luckow as her senior-thesis project at Yale, eager to see if it supported or undercut the vision of Tonya Harding and her demons put forth by Craig Gillespie’s audacious awards-bait docudrama. What it reveals, to me, is how close to the truth of Harding’s life “I,...

Here’s something you probably didn’t think you’d hear a month ago: Tonya Harding is more well-liked than Nancy Kerrigan. At least among our readers. In a recent poll asking which of the two they preferred on “Dancing with the Stars,” Harding skated away with 51 percent of the vote.
Though her casting was met with criticism, Harding made the most of her “Dancing” run, embracing the whole experience, and winning over viewers with her eagerness to learn and her surprisingly adept dance ability. Her exuberant freestyle — to “I Will Survive” — encapsulated her journey on the show, which was basically the living embodiment of “You like me, you really like me!” She came in third place, three standings higher than Kerrigan’s finish in Season 24, and is grateful to America for giving her a second chance.

With less than a week to go before “Dancing with the Stars” begins its special 26th season featuring only athletes on April 30, Tonya Harding moves up in our predictions for who will win the Mirror Ball Trophy. She now ranks third with 5/2 odds with the top two spots continuing to be held by Adam Rippon (first place with 17/10 odds) and Mirai Nagasu (second place with 11/5 odds). If we’re right that would mean a clean sweep of the top three for this season’s figure skaters.
Our odds are based on the combined predictions of hundreds of Gold Derby users who have made their forecasts thus far in anticipation of the April 30 season premiere. And it makes sense that our users would have high expectations for figure skaters given the previous Mirror Ball Trophy victories for Kristi Yamaguchi (season 6) and Meryl Davis (season 18). But not all figure skaters have made it that far.

Seven sports are represented by the 10 athletes on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” including some of the show’s staples. But which sport’s athletes have done the best on the show? You can probably guess. Let’s look at these seven sports’ “Dancing” histories.
Football (Josh Norman)
As everyone knows, football is by far “Dancing”’s favorite sport. They don’t even try to hide it. Nineteen football players have hoofed it before this season, and while they haven’t all made it to the business end of their respective seasons, football has produced four winners, three runner-ups and two third-place finishers. So, no pressure, Josh, to follow in these pigskin players’ footsteps.

There’s a definite formula going for Javier Bardem. The wackier his haircut and outfit, the better the man’s performance. Think of that Dorothy Hamill ‘do in No Country for Old Men. Or his oh-so chic cream ensembles and bleached brows in Skyfall. Now gaze at these stills and tell me why I’m so excited to see The Counselor. The Ridley Scott film is an all-star ensemble that pairs Bardem with heavy-hitters like Cameron Diaz, real-life wife Penelope Cruz, Michael Fassbender, and Brad Pitt, as seen through these newly released stills. While the beautiful people are clearly beautiful, Bardem and Diaz are the most interesting to look at; the couple knows how to dress. Flowing caftans, rose-tinted glasses, printed silk shirts – it’s like Hunter S. Thompson was a billionaire drug lord and not just a normal drug user. The film, from a Cormac McCarthy script (No Country for Old Men) centers on a lawyer...

"I just tried to take it one week at a time, one dance at a time," the North Carolina-born Pickler told People after her victory, with her partner Derek Hough at her side.

Kellie Pickler has been crowned the "DWTS" winner.
The country singer was named the Season 16 "DWTS" champion after weeks of competition, beating out Disney star Zendaya, Super Bowl champ Jacoby Jones and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.
"This is amazing," Kellie said, before Jacoby put the "DWTS" winner on his shoulders as she held the Mirror Ball trophy with her partner Derek Hough.
Shortly after the results were announced, Kellie, who initially didn't hear co-host Tom Bergeron name her the "DWTS" winner, spoke with ABC News. "This has been an unbelievable night. I'm kind of lost for words," the "American Idol" alumna said.
"I'm very proud," a very poised Zendaya, who was the runner-up, told "DWTS" co-host Brooke Burke Charvet. "I get to leave here with an amazing experience so I'm happy."

Dancing With The Stars 16 Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough won the whole show tonight. Tonight's finale show kicked off with a performance from a couple of the dance pros, and they were joined by the final 4. Then Kellie & Derek did an encore performance of their Freestyle routine from last night. From there, we learned that Alexandra & Mark landed in 4th place,so they were immediately eliminated at that point. Next, the female finalists and DWTS female pro dancers did a "girls" routine. After that, they brought back some previously voted off celebs from this season to do performances with their dance pro partners. They included: Wynona Judd, Lisa Vanderpump, Dorothy Hamill, along with past champion Kristi Yamaguchi, and Andy Dick. Next, we saw rap star,Psy, perform his awful, new song, titled, “Gentleman.” His dancing was also lousy. I wish they would just quit inviting him to perform on these shows.

After 10 long, highly predictable (and occasionally entertaining) weeks, Dancing With The Stars’ Season 16 finale offered variations on – anticlimax alert! — what we’ve been witnessing since the premiere: Disney teen queen Zendaya still dazzling (her samba, Cha Cha relay and hip hop-themed freestyle on Monday scored a trio of perfect scores from the judges), Kellie Pickler in hot pursuit (just one stinkin’ Cha Cha-fueled point behind), and a game Aly Raisman (just 4 points in arrears) primed to potentially crash the party.

Dancing with the Stars season 16 enters its fifth week, with fans having shown so far that if the stars can't dance, they won't last long. Dorothy Hamill bowed out, then American helped vote off country singer Wynonna Judd and reality star Lisa Vanderpump, as both showed they were two of the weakest dancers this season.
Will the fans continue to vote off the weakest dancers? Tonight, ABC adds to the difficulty with Len Goodman's side-by-side challenge. Can funny men D.L. Hughley and Andy Dick keep pace with the rest of the stars as the competition starts to get tougher?...

Season 16 of Dancing with the Stars is starting to pick off the weakest dancers one by one. Tuesday night America voted and agreed for the most part with the judges as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump was eliminated along with her professional dance partner Gleb Savchenko.
Vanderpump joins Dorothy Hamill and Wynonna Judd as the first three celebrities voted off season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. So far, it looks like America has gotten the voting right, with two of the worst dancers being voted off and the third (Hamill) bowing out on her own. Don't forget to download the BuddyTV Guide app so you can keep up with the latest eliminations and results on ABC's hit reality show.

Wynonna Judd is devastated over her "Dancing With The Stars" elimination this week.
“I’m devastated in a way because of Tony. I wanted to be the brightest student in the class,” Judd told Access Hollywood, referring to her pro partner and former "DWTS" winner Tony Dovolani. “So, it’s a real roller coaster ride.”
On Tuesday, Judd became the first contestant of the dance competition's 16th season to be sent packing. Dorothy Hamill withdrew from the competition during the first elimination so no addition additional contestants were sent home.
"I faced some of my biggest fears," Judd said on stage after learning of her elimination. "This is the hardest job I've ever had ... I did the best I could."
Though Judd admitted that she had suspected that she was going to get the boot, she told Us Weekly that the elimination was still hard to swallow.
"It's a bittersweet thing.

The "DWTS" results are in and Wynonna Judd is out.
Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko were the first in the Bottom 3, followed by Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess, and Wynonna and her partner Tony Dovolani were the final couple in jeopardy.
"I faced some of my biggest fears," Judd said before saying goodbye to "DWTS." "This is the hardest job I've ever had ... I did the best I could."
Judd is the first contestant to be eliminated from Season 16 of "Dancing With The Stars" since Dorothy Hamill withdrew from the competition due to an injury in the first "DWTS" results week.
Zendaya and Jacoby Jones won the Prom Queen and King titles, thanks to the "DWTS" audience. That put Zendaya and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and Jacoby and his partner Karina Smirnoff, through to Week 4. At the end of the night, when the "DWTS" results were in, Zendaya gave her Prom Queen sash to Wynonna.

After Dorothy Hamill’s shocking, injury-related withdrawal last week, I hoped and prayed that merit (or lack of it) alone would solely determine tonight’s homeward-bound celeb on Dancing With the Stars‘ Season 16 Week 3 results show.
Based on Monday night’s mixed bag of prom-themed performances, the usual suspects – including one of last week’s bottom dwellers, Lisa Vanderpump, along with the equally hapless Andy Dick and D.L. Hughley – looked like they could be flirting with elimination, though Wynonna Judd’s sad excuse for a samba saddled her at the very bottom of the leaderboard. Step it up, girlfriend!

With former Olympian Dorothy Hamill gone after suffering an injury, the competition starts to heat up on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. I still contend Lisa Vanderpump was going to be sent home, but we are left wondering whether Vanderpump or boxer Victor Ortiz were going to be voted off by America.
With the 11 remaining teams, I think Vanderpump, Ortiz, D.L. Hughley, and Wynonna Judd are on the hot seat. Ortiz is the best dancer out of the four, but he has to show a more likeable side than the frustrated crybaby that showed up week two. Hughley is by far the worst dancer on the competition, but as long as he keeps improving I think fans will want him to stay in the competition.

Dancing with the Stars' first elimination turned out to be moot after Dorothy Hamill withdrew with a spine injury. But since that was kept on the down low from the cast until the show announcement, no one's nerves were quelled. "No one knew [so] I was really nervous," Aly Raisman tells TVGuide.com. "Standing up there, I was like, 'This just got real! Someone's going to leave.' Luckily, we were saved pretty early." Raisman and her partner Mark Ballas are in third place on the leader board after two weeks and have the Viennese waltz next on Prom Week. Get the scoop on the routine and their "cool surprise."

What had ETonline readers buzzing this week?
1. Dorothy Hamill Emotional after 'DWTS' Withdrawal
Dancing with the Stars was set to lose one of its cast members on Tuesday night by elimination. Instead, former Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill withdrew from the competition due to injury. After the show, she explained her emotional decision.
Now in the second week, Dancing was prepared to eliminate the first cast member of its sixteenth season on Tuesday, with Hamill, Lisa Vanderpump, and Victor Ortiz tied for 36 at the bottom of the leader board.
Alternatively, Hamill resigned from the show after her doctor informed her that it was no longer safe to participate in the competition given a back injury she sustained in rehearsal.
"[I'm] sad, but I know I made the right decision," an emotional but poised Hamill said after the show. "I just couldn't put [my partner] through it any more. I just feel badly for Tristan. I feel like...

Last night on Dancing With the Stars, viewers did not get the same elimination show that we've grown accustomed to. Instead, Dorothy Hamill removed herself from the competition due to injuries that she said could be irreparable. Her stepping down meant that the others in the bottom three, Victor Ortiz and Lisa Vanderpump, were safe. At least for now. The celebrities faced their first elimination of the season on "Dancing With the Stars," but then no one got eliminated. Instead, one of the celebrities had no choice but to pull herself from the competition. Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill suffers from nerve damage in her spine, and the competition proved too much for her to handle.
"I’ve taken the advice of my spine surgeon, and I need to withdraw from the competition," she said. “It would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home."
According to TV Guide, Dorothy used Monday's performance as a "test" to see what she could handle, and it proved too difficult. She knew she couldn't sustain the level of commitment necessary to compete.
Entertainment Weekly's Annie Barrett was saddened by her departure, writing, "I had such high hopes for Dorothy and Tristan. Injuries are the worst.
