French actor and Russian citizen Gerard Depardieu will star in a Russian TV series based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s classic 1879 novel, The Brothers Karamazov. The series, produced by Mars Media, will consist of eight episodes, with shooting planned for 2017. Mars Media head Ruben Dishdishyan told Russian news agency Rambler News Service, "Depardieu was the initiator of the project. He will play the father of the Karamazovs." According to Dishdishyan, French producer Jean-Pierre Guerin — who produced the French TV series Le comte de Monte Cristo, Balzac and Les miserables, starring Depardieu — will also come on board. Father and son wine tour tale reunites directorial duo Benoit Delépine and Gustave Kervern with Gérard Depardieu and Benoît Po
Le Pacte has picked up sales on Benoit Delépine and Gustave Kervern’s latest collaboration Saint Amour, starring Gérard Depardieu and Benoît Poelvoorde as a farmer and his son who bond and find love on an eventful wine tour.
Delépine and Kervern last worked with Depardieu on their 2010 comic road movie Mammuth, which premiered in Berlin, was a breakout arthouse hit in France and sold well internationally.
Poelvoorde is a frequent collaborator with Delépine and Kervern, starring most recently as middle-aged punk in Le Grand Soir – which won Un Certain Regard’s Grand Jury Prize in 2012.
In Saint Amour, Poelvoorde plays disheartened cattle breeder Bruno who is attending the Paris International Agriculture Show with his father Jean, played by Depardieu.

Two days ago, Telefilm Canada had announced that 10 of 27 upcoming films will be in French. What follow is the list of these films.
L’appât – Comedy, Quebec-France co-production, directed by Yves Simoneau and written by Yves Simoneau and William Reymond. Poirier is a particularly inept detective, none of whose colleagues want to work with him. However, the French police, in concert with the Sureté du Québec, assign a very unusual officer, Marc Ventura, to work alongside Poirier... (Producers: Josée Vallée and Jean-Pierre Guérin; distributor: Alliance Vivafilm). The project is also receiving Telefilm support through the performance envelope.
Café de Flore – Drama, Quebec-France co-production, written and directed by Jean-Marc Vallée. This is first and foremost an incredibly beautiful love story between a man and a woman, as well as that between a mother and her son. (Producers: Pierre Even and Jean-Marc Vallée; distributor: Alliance Vivafilm).
En terrains connus – Drama written and directed by Stéphane Lafleur.
