So summer is just around the corner and the concert season is heating up! Within just these past three weeks since our latest New Music Mix, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to catch Yelle otherwise known as the French equation to Robyn, British musical prodigy James Blake with Active Child, and Swedish indie singer Lykke Li live in concert. All were equally awesome in their own right.
I have not had quite as much fun at a show (probably since first seeing Robyn in concert) as I did when I saw Yelle. Going into Yelle’s show I was only familiar with a few of her songs. The Tepr remix of “A Cause des Garcons” was posted on Perezhilton.com a few years ago and I knew that this gal had something special, especially after the video went so viral.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Ahn Entertainment) - Britney Spears must be hoping lightning strikes a third time. She's confirmed yet another dance floor-friendly single for the third release of "Femme Fatale," "I Wanna Go."
"I Wanna Go," produced by longtime collaborator Max Martin (responsible for #1 hits "..Baby One More Time" and "3") with Shellback and Savan Kotecha, is set to be official third single off Spears' latest platinum disc. The song is set to impact in June, just days before she kicks off her "Femme Fatale" tour.
Chris Marrs Piliero, who directed Ke$ha's "Blow" video as well as clips for the Black Keys and Yellowcard, is set to helm the video.
"So excited 2 announce that the fan favorite #IWannaGo is my next single from Femme Fatale! Shhh, it's my fav too!" Spears tweeted.

There are already a few songs from a potential Britney Spears Femme Fatale Tour set list floating around on fan sites. With about five weeks left until the tour actually kicks off, we're sure the Spears camp is narrowing down what songs the pop star should perform live from her expansive back-catalog of tunes.
The current set of contenders includes newbies like "How I Roll," "Hold It Against Me" and "Till the World Ends," as well as classics like "Slave 4 U," "Boys" and "Overprotected." (There hasn't been any confirmation yet about what songs have made the final cut, Fyi.)
We admit these are all fine choices and have the potential to make for a good time at the show. Brit's got seven albums to potentially pick songs from, so we imagine that it's really hard to narrow down what fans will see when they go out to the show in their respective city.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Break Tradition By Exiting Royal Wedding In Decked-Out Aston Martin!
Jaws dropped as William & Kate kicked tradition to the curb One More Time on their Big Day, when William drove the pair out of Buckingham Palace in a fully decorated car with a ‘Just Wed’ sign on the back.
The crowds went wild and the TV commentators were practically speechless — “this is unprecedented,” stammered one — when the royal newlyweds shocked and totally delighted their world audience by driving off with balloons streaming behind their fully decorated Aston Martin Volante DB6, a loaner from Prince Charles.
Not only did they have a “just wed” sign attached to the back, but there was also an “L” on the front. HollywoodLife.com‘s resident Brit Jeremy Seigal says the “L” signifies that the driver of the car is still “learning” how to drive, but we think it’s also symbolizes how William is learning how to be a husband!

This week on "Dancing with the Stars" the theme was guilty pleasures -- and contestants Kirstie Alley and Kendra Wilkinson used it to their full advantage.
Wilkinson and partner Louis van Amstel bumped and grinded to Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca." Judge Len Goodman commented, "The more you gyrated, the more I palpitated! I'm telling ya!"

Monday night's "Dancing With the Stars" came with yet another unchoreographed mishap. Karina Smirnoff tripped over partner Ralph Macchio and fell during their paso doble to "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance)" by C + C Music Factory. The two came back from their tumble quickly, and got it together much to the judges' happiness. Just a few weeks ago, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy fell on the dance floor, a water-cooler moment for the show.
"I'm proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself," head judge Len Goodman told them. Bruno Tonioli agreed. "Once you got back on it, there was no stopping you," he told the pair. In spite of their mistake, the pair earned 24 points.

It's a guilty pleasure week on "Dancing with the Stars" with the contestants dancing to pop-culture songs. Before that, Hanson brought a nostalgic atmosphere to the April 25 show as they performed "MMMBop" live while Tony Dovolani and Lacey Schwimmer danced to the 1997 hit.
The competition started with Kirstie Alley dancing the samba to Britney Spears' "...Baby One More Time". Len Goodman thought she showed her best potential, while Carrie Ann Inaba said, "This is the way I want to see you dance every week!" She scored 26 out of 30.
Chris Jericho followed next with his tango to "Don't Stop Believing". He was not as good as last week. Carrie Ann saw it like "the pressure got to you this week," before concluding, "It wasn't exciting, passionate." Bruno Toli claimed, "Tonight, it really didn't happen for you." Chris scored 22.

After shockingly landing in the bottom two last week, Kirstie Alley stepped up her game and shook her booty to Britney Spears’s ‘Baby One More Time’ — and she got my vote!
After a few weeks of unfortunate events, Kirstie Alley finally hit the nail on the head with her samba to Britney Spears‘s “Baby One More Time” during Guilty Pleasures week on Dancing with the Stars April 25, which earned her her highest score yet! The judges freaked out when they saw it and gave her a 26 out of 30. “You’re back!!” Carrie Ann raved. But how did everyone else fair?
Pretty darn well! I think the contestants enjoyed toying with their “Guilty Pleasures” tonight — and their enthusiasm certainly showed.

It was guilty pleasures night on Dancing with the Stars, but one competitor had little to smile about after taking the second fall of the season. Monday (April 25) was "Guilty Pleasures Night" on "Dancing With the Stars," which seems a little redundant to us. But that's an argument for another time.
And if there's a guiltier pleasure than Britney Spears' first hit, "... Baby One More Time," we can scarcely think of it. That was the song Kirstie Alley chose to lead off the night, dancing the samba with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Which she kind of nailed, by the way.
Despite much complaining in the rehearsal montage, Alley dropped one of her best performances of the season, drawing effusive praise from the judges and a pair of 9s from Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli. Carrie Ann Inaba awarded Kirstie and Maks an 8, giving the pair a total of 26.

This week on “Dancing with the Stars,” it’s “Guilty Pleasures” night.
Before we have a chance to register what’s happening, Hanson (Hanson?!) opens the show, playing that one song of theirs. (What? Ok.)
But we’ll cut them a little slack: the brothers are still cute after all these years, and better dressed, especially the one in the blue suit. (We still don’t know their names.) The Hanson brothers grow on us over the night,...

The 12th season of Dancing With The Stars continued tonight as the seven remaining couples took to the dance floor for the sixth time in the hope of becoming the ultimate champion. Tonight's episode saw the stars participate in "Guilty Pleasures Night" where contestants danced to songs that they hate to love. The show also featured a live musical performance from Hanson. Justin Bieber recently treated thousands of his screaming fans with a brief rendition of his girlfriend Selena Gomez's new single "Who Says". The Canadian pop idol sang the cover song when performing in a live sold-out concert at Sentul City International Convention Center in Bogor, Indonesia on April 23.
During one of the Saturday night sets, Bieber was asked by concertgoers to sing his smash hit "Baby", but he insisted on performing another song "One Time". When the audience were persistent, he distracted them by briefly singing Britney Spears "...Baby One More Time" and Selena's "Who Says". He later asked them, "So which one do you want to hear?"
The concert was part of Justin Bieber's My World tour. He kicked off the Asian leg in Israel, and was joined by Selena Gomez when visiting Malaysia on April 21. He also brought the "Wizards of Waverly Place" star when touching down Indonesia.

With Wednesday's release of Britney Spears' new video for "Till the World Ends," the pop diva showed she can dance her way through anything — even an apocalypse.
Now, although "Till the World Ends" takes place in the future, it's hard to watch it without feeling transported to the past. The edgy look, steamy scenes and pulsating dance moves take us back to Spears' 2001 hit "Slave 4 U." Some of the key elements of "Till the World Ends" mirror "Slave," from the videos' sweaty dance scenes to the sexy wardrobe changes to an almost identical scene in which Britney sits among a group of sultry dancers.
And this isn't the first time the princess of pop has paid homage to herself.

Britney Spears is victorious on Billboard Hot 200 this week. The 29-year-old pop singer rules the U.S. albums chart with her newly-released studio installment "Femme Fatale" which has scanned 276,000 copies in its first week on sale.
It's Britney's second-lowest opening sales after her debut effort "...Baby One More Time" pulled in a smaller figure (121,000 at No. 1) in 1999. Although the "Femme Fatale" number couldn't match the first-week sale of her previous "Circus" (506,000), it's enough to lead her scoring her sixth chart-topping album.
This achievement makes Britney one of female artists with the third-most No. 1 albums along with Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson. Ahead of her, there are Madonna with seven chart toppers, and Barbra Streisand with nine.
Back to the chart, Wiz Khalifa follows behind Britney with "Rolling Papers" which claims the second spot with 197,000 units sold. The other new entries are Radiohead's "King of Limbs" at No. 6 (69,000), Snoop Dogg's "Doggumentary" at No.

Miley Cyrus may not be a Rebecca Black fan, but Justin Bieber showed his fellow YouTube phenom a little love during a recent performance. Or did he?
In this video taken by a concertgoer, we see Biebs belting out an acoustic version of his hit "Pray" before launching into a few bars of "Friday" for his encore with Jaden Smith. Thankfully, he quickly came to his senses asking the crowd, "No? Maybe we should do 'Baby'?" From where we're sitting, the reference seems like more of a joke than a nod. Something we're totally ok with.
Obviously referring to his hit single which boasts the lines, "I was like baby, baby, baby, ooh/Like baby, baby, baby noo," Bieber decided to launch into a little old school Britney Spears, instead. What a jokester.

Spears later explains the difference between recording tracks versus performing them live.

The legacy of Daft Punk, perhaps the greatest dance music act of the 21st century, is loaded down with irony. The two Frenchmen who make up Daft Punk — Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo — have spent the last 15 years or so crafting some of the world's biggest dance floor anthems, and they have done it in relative self-imposed obscurity. Their public appearances (including concerts) are conducted under the cover of helmets or masks, they rarely grant interviews and they don't even work that often. In trying to stay anonymous, Daft Punk have become exceptionally famous for not wanted to be recognized, and because of the scarcity of their work, each of their new releases is greeted with twitchy enthusiasm. Such was the case on this day in 2005, when Daft Punk dropped their third album Human After All.
After the full-bodied sound of their previous album (2001's Discovery), Daft Punk decided...

For fans who feel that the March 29 release date of Britney Spears' Femme Fatale is just too far away, well, it seems that more and more pieces of the album are hitting the Web before the hotly anticipated recording is scheduled to reach stores.
Leaks and longer snippets have been popping up all over the place and they paint a picture of what Femme Fatale will sound like. So far, fans are seeing that Spears is ready to dance on the new album.
With tracks like "Gasoline," the will.i.am-produced "Big Fat Bass" and the empowering "I Wanna Go" all getting the teaser treatment in more extended ways, it's clear that Spears and her producers, Dr. Luke and Max Martin, have compiled a cohesive mix of party tracks.

Baseball games have gone through a fascinating evolution. In the beginning, they were minimalist masterpieces (gamers of a certain age still talk about the greatness of "Rbi Baseball"), but then got bogged down by detail-oriented simulations (for about 10 years in there, these games were no fun at all). But by appealing to both stat-minded baseball obsessives and more casual fans who just want to see pretty stadiums and knock around homers (as well as some healthy competition from 2K Sports' baseball franchise), the "Mlb: The Show" series has become required playing every spring. What does the 2011 version bring to the lineup?

Britney Spears is looking hot and spread-legged in the current issue of Out. However, it is my theory that Brit came in for the shoot and was all like, “Nailed it! Here, have this robot answer the interview questions.” I think she might be participating in the Turing Test, which is where scientists Im with both humans and robots, not knowing if they are talking to a human or a robot, and try to determine who is what. And it’s harder than you might think. Anyway, these are the quotes that lead me to believe that Britney’s responses were composed by a robot: What is the worst advice a record executive ever told you? Someone once told me that the “…Baby One More Time” video should be me as a superhero fighting a giant robot monster. (It’s making a robot reference so we’re all “Oh, a...

The Britney Spears come back is in full swing and adding to her media blitz is an e-mail Q&A with "Out" magazine. While she's no Charlie Sheen (at least not at the moment), BritBrit's answers are candid, surprising and often funny in the interview.
Our favorite quote?
When asked if she had any songs in her repertoire that she wished had never been recorded or that she didn't particularly like, she snapped back with: "No. All of my songs are f-ing amazing."
We're about as loyal as you can get as a Britney fan, but we can recall a few less than stellar tracks there, girl -- "Dear Diary," anyone?
Read on for a few other gems from the interview, including her thoughts on long-time "rival" Christina Aguilera, and being a fan of Lady Gaga and Rihanna.
Do you listen to your contemporaries' music?
"Yes. I love Gaga and Rihanna.

She's released a single, a video and teasers of Femme Fatale, but Spears herself has been holding off on public appearances.

On Friday, Britney Spears took another teasingly small step in promoting her upcoming Femme Fatale album, releasing a video in which she announced that she'll perform on "Good Morning America" on March 29, the day the LP drops.
The short video clip temporarily calmed the increasingly anxious Britney fans, who had been wondering, "Where is Britney?" It's been six weeks since first single "Hold It Against Me" was released. Since then, Britney has hosted a Q&A session with fans on Twitter and premiered the song's video on MTV, but she's been largely missing from the public eye.
We know the pop princess is still busy putting the finishing touches to her album — she tweeted a picture of her and producer will.

HollywoodNews.com: Darren Criss, who plays openly gay student Blaine on ‘Glee,’ talked about locking lips with Lea Michele’s Rachel on last week’s episode during an appearance Friday on ‘Access Hollywood Live.’
“It was clearly, for Blaine, an experiment, which I think is a cool thing to address,” Darren told hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. “More often than not, it’s like the straight guy or the straight person thinking out of the box, but the other side of that is just sort of… conflict.”
The 24-year-old actor/musician talked about originally auditioning for the role of Finn (landed by Cory Monteith) and says his formerly crazy coiffed hairdo may be partly to blame for his not getting cast.

While dyed-in-Slushie Gleeksters are going to have to wait until March 8 for the entire album to drop, two of the new original Glee songs debuted this morning on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show. Our favorite of the two? The poppy, snotty “Loser Like Me,” a tune celebrating the life of a nerd rebel. Says Glee‘s musical director Adam Anders, “It’s a very uptempo, kind-of-summery hit.” The song was co-written by Max Martin, a producer and songwriter who also helped create such gems as Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” and a string of Britney Spears‘ hits spanning from “…Baby One More Time” all the way to “Hold It Against Me.” “Loser” is just the thing to get Gleeks everywhere singing along into their hair brushes in front of the mirror after spending the weekend stuffed in a locker.
The second jam is the power ballad “Get It Right” featuring Lea Michele going it solo.

The queen of pop is back with a new sound! Her new songs ‘I Wanna Go’ and ‘Inside Out’ have electronic beats, and we think her whole album will be dance themed!
Britney Spears is a genius when it comes to reinventing herself and her music. She has risen from scandal and is about to blow your mind with her new album Femme Fatale. Based off the record’s first single, ‘Hold it against me’ and clips from the songs she just leaked via Twitter, it sounds like Britney is putting out a modern dance album!

Are you as confused as I am after watching Brit’s new video? Watch it here & let me know your thoughts!
Britney Spears is back — not that she really went anywhere — with her highly anticipated music video for “Hold It Against Me.” But was all that hype worth the wait? I say no. It begins with a colorful astroid hitting the Earth and ends with some leather-clad gentlemen hitting the floor… with a whole lot of mixed concepts and disconnected themes in between.
To her credit, though, Britney still dances pretty well — I think. The camera refuses to stay on her for more than a second at a time, so I had trouble gauging her moves.
Then there’s the obnoxious product placement, which make it feels less like a music video and more like a 4-minute commercial — but a commercial for what, I’m not sure. Sony? Britney’s perfume?...

Alright, kids. For today's course in Critical Thinking, we present Britney Spears' new video for "Hold It Against Me," which was just unleashed onto the world on Thursday night, and it's ripe with self-reflective symbolism.
In the epic 4-minute plus clip, we see worlds collide and one woman standing at its center: Britney, in all her long blonde, bare-bellied glory. After starting a typical writhing around with male backup dancers routine (just how we like it), things take a turn for the weird.
Britney is the futuristic queen of this world, much like she was in 2000's "Oops!..I Did It Again," except she's more like the white queen of media (sorry, Perez) in this screen-based society.
On the screens (which, just so you know, were sponsored by Sony. You want to buy a Sony), Britney's got her near-entire videography, including her early clips for "..Baby One More Time" and "Sometimes.

It's not a stretch to call "Hold It Against Me" the most anticipated video of Britney Spears' 11-year career; after all, how many of her clips were preceded by a two-week teaser-thon that drove tens of millions of video streams and fans to the brink?
It's too soon to tell where the video will settle into Ms. Spears' pantheon of visually innovative music videos: pop-culture touchstone like " ... Baby One More Time" (the schoolgirl outfit) or "Oops! ... I Did It Again" (the red-leather catsuit), the darkly foreboding "Everytime" or über-sexy "I'm a Slave 4 U." Either way, it manages to outgun all those clips — and pretty much everything Brit's done since her 2007 Blackout album — in terms of sheer spectacle, while, at the same time managing to display an amazing amount of restraint.

Sure Britney Spears tends to take her clothes off a lot, but she's also worn some pretty memorable looks in her music videos. And as it turns out, Spears plans to up her fashion ante for the upcoming "Hold It Against Me" (which premieres on MTV and MTV.com on Thursday, February 17 at 9:56 p.m. Eastern).
"She's taking fashion risks," choreographer Brian Friedman shared about the style Spears is rocking this time around. "Things we've never seen her wear before she's wearing in this video, and I think it's just very sexy and it's a little bit playful."
Spears famously donned that school girl uniform in her "...Baby One More Time" video in 1998. The Lolita idea was all her own. "My idea originally was just jeans and T-Shirts, and we were at the wardrobe fitting and Britney holds up the jeans and T-shirts and says, 'Wouldn't I wear a schoolgirl outfit?...

Who would have thought that a red piece of latex would mean so much to a pop star. For Britney Spears, that skintight garment was something she wanted to make sure made the final cut of the ultra-glossy video for her 2000 smash hit "Oops! ... I Did It Again."
The video's director, Nigel Dick, reminisced in a 2009 MTV News interview about Spears' request for the now-unforgettable red-latex catsuit. "[She said,] 'I want to be in a red jumpsuit. There are just four more days until Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" video premieres, and the pop supernova continues to keep the suspense high.
After doling out super-short snippets of the visual to her latest dance floor-filler for over a week, the preview she gifted fans on Sunday (February 13) doesn't feature a flash of her toned legs or a scene where she and her dancers prepare to bust out some heart-racing choreography, but her presence is felt.
In the 10th, slickly produced teaser, a lofty chamber dotted with monitors looping many of her old videos takes center stage, as the bass from her insta-smash throbs in the background.
The seconds-long teasers will culminate in the premiere of the entire video, which goes down on MTV on Thursday at 9:56 p.m.

Britney Spears continues to tease fans with seconds-long previews of her forthcoming video "Hold It Against Me," and the offering on Saturday (February 12) was another lightning-quick snapshot of the vampy visual.
In the seven-second preview, a cache of professional studio lighting flashes on surrounding an empty, circular, milk-white platform. Suddenly, Britney appears on the platform amid the bevy of lights in red hot pants, heels and a white top, her blonde hair falling at her shoulders and her feet apart, looking ready to groove. A team of dancers in all-white ensembles flank the pop diva in a similar stance, and with a similar intensity, looking ready to rock it.
