Four Food Network stars dig into their bag of tricks to scare up some Halloween-friendly treats in a special holiday-themed episode of "Best Thing I Ever Made" airing Sunday morning, Oct. 28.
Each of the four cooks -- Sunny Anderson, Jacques Torres, Susan Feniger and Eric Greenspan -- hosts his own segment, preparing his favorite spooktacular dish.
In Anderson's case, that's her beloved candy bar pancakes with "booberry" syrup.
"You have candy bars left over, so what are you going to do with them? I make pancakes, but I crunch up either Butterfingers or Snickers, and I put them in the batter," Anderson tells Zap2it. "Then I make a simple blueberry syrup. It's my own pancake batter recipe, but it only has a tablespoon of sugar in the whole recipe. I just make the batter and fold in the candy bars. It's one of my favorite things to make, even when it isn't Halloween,...

The novel, previously adapted for a 2000 film starring Leonard Dicarpio, is about a group of people who join a seemingly idyllic island commune, only to find things aren't as easy as they seem. [Deadline]

Exclusive: Universal Pictures must be expecting a fairy-tale ending for Snow White And The Huntsman. I’m told the studio is already in discussions with David Koepp to come aboard to write the sequel. The word is the studio hopes to fast track the project so that Huntsman helmer Rupert Sanders can make it the next project he directs. Huntsman bows June 1, with Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth playing the title characters, and Charlize Theron as the evil Queen Ravenna. No one can accuse last night’s Next Food Network Star of being suspenseful, but at least the show’s judges continue to eliminate the weakest links, with little or no regard for reality-show shenanigans like keeping around the crazies and the incompetents for sheer entertainment value. Indeed, from the minute Das got schooled by a Whole Foods sales clerk about his choice of ingredients for a dish to impress star chef Eric Greenspan– “We don’t carry Velveeta.” — you knew the dude was on his way out the door. There were other signs and signals pointing to Das’ demise,...
