Last night brought about the annual Game Awards which featured its normal exclusives, awkward moments, and some incredible high points. With all that went down, I'm taking a look at this year's high and low points with hope for the next year. Come inside to check it out!
It's no secret that I've given The Game Awards some crap over the years. While much of it is light-hearted jabs, there are plenty of legitimate criticisms to be made. For better or worse, The Game Awards is about the Only major awards show for the games industry. While there are other (some would say more prestigious) awards, they're all attached to conventions and aren't big public affairs.
As such, there's a lot of potential for the show to be a shining moment for gamers and something we can all be proud of, but there are some things that continue to hold it back.

A video gaming experience therapeutic for both players and its grief-stricken creator, That Dragon, Cancer can currently be purchased for use on your Mac/PC and other devices. Created by Colorado-based developer Ryan Green, the independent video game serves as a reflection of a tragedy he and his family recently experienced: the death of Green’s young son, Joel, who passed away after a sustained battle with cancer. Working on the project as Joel was receiving treatment, Ryan and his family incorporated very real moments of personal history into That Dragon, Cancer, even going as far as to sample Joel and his family’s actual voices […]...

After it was successfully backed via Kickstarter in 2014, That Dragon, Cancer now has a confirmed release date for a 2016 launch. In the latest Kickstarter update, the game’s developers unveiled a new trailer and confirmed just why they were so set on their chosen release date.
That Dragon, Cancer – which is set to tell the story of an infant’s four year fight against cancer – is dedicated to the memory of Joel Green, the son of game developer Ryan Green, who sadly lost his own fight with the disease at the age of five. Joel fought the disease from just twelve months old, but defied the odds for years after his parents were told he would originally only live for a few months. January 12th, 2016 would have been Joel’s seventh birthday, and his parents could think of no better day to release the game:
We are announcing our release date!

Quick hit pointer for fans of The Leftovers. HBO sent us a fresh new full trailer and some images for the upcoming second season of The Leftovers.
I’m not caught up on The Leftovers and will have to get back to it, but I think I have to be in a pretty specific mindset. To put it in McFly terms, The Leftovers is really heavy, and I was looking forward to the next/new Damon Lindelof television project.
Might have to get my The Leftovers season 1 binge on soon and catch up.
For people just like me, HBO added a synopsis:
The Leftovers: More than three years ago, 2% of the world’s population inexplicably vanished. 140 million people, gone in an instant. No country, no state, no city was spared, except for one small town in eastern Texas. Population: 9261. Departures: Zero. This is the setting for a tale of...

From the moment his baby son Joel was diagnosed with terminal cancer, game developer Ryan Green struggled to wrap his head around why this was happening and how his family would live with it. As time went on, he and his wife Amy got used to the hospital visits, the treatments, and seeing their tiny child hooked up to all those machines. Their other sons adjusted to the idea that their brother was fighting to stay alive, and the odds weren’t in his favor. How did Ryan cope in the face of such a devastating, unexplainable tragedy? To borrow the words of Neil Gaiman, he made good art, specifically a video game titled That Dragon, Cancer.

"The Chronicles of Narnia" star William Moseley is looking busy, signing for two projects and seeing an already completed film of his acquired by Millennium Entertainment.
First to film is Brett Ryan Green's indie drama "The Veil," in which Moseley plays a war-besieged tribesman who attempts to lead his people and their princess on a campaign against their oppressors. Serinda Swain and William Levy also star with filming to take place in Oklahoma.
After that, he heads to South Africa to shoot Philip Koch and Simon Verhoeven's "Unfriend" for Warner Bros International. That story follows a group of college friends confronted by a dark force.
Moseley has already shot Simone Bartesaghi's "Run," an 3D indie parkour-centric crime thriller in which he plays an American teenager who uses his free-running skills to pull off small robberies with his father (Adrian Pasdar).
