Jerusalem Film Festival has selected 17 Israeli features in competition across its feature and documentary sections, for the 40th anniversary edition of the event.
Titles among nine in the Full-Length Israeli Feature Films competition include A Room Of His Own, the third feature from Matan Yair. The Hebrew-language film follows Uri, whose mother is sleeping in his room since his father moved out; but who is seeking his own room and path to deal with the world.

- Fish Tank, Everyone Else, Dogtooth, Police Adjective, A Prophet and White Ribbon are just a half a dozen titles among the 48 films that have a shot at being nominated among several categories for 22nd The European Film Awards. Among those that mysteriously didn't make the list are a pair of films that played at Cannes in Romania's Tales From the Golden Age and France's The Father of My Children. The way it works is, 2000 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the different award categories which will be announced on the 7th of November with the winners announced on the 12th of December. The 24th Israel Film Festival, which runs from June 3-18 at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills and Lammele's Fallbrook 7 in the San Fernando Valley, will kick off with Reshef Levy's autobiographical drama "Lost Islands," the top-grossing and most honored film in Israel last year.
At the opening-night and awards gala at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre on June 3, Iff Awards will be presented to John Fishel, president of The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles; producer Robert Lantos; producer Branko Lustig; and songwriter Diane Warren.
