The U.K. edition of iconic game show “Password” will bow imminently on broadcaster ITV, and new countries are being added.
Variety can reveal that the Fremantle-owned format is getting versions in Greece (Alpha TV), Hungary (TV2), Israel (Channel 13), Mexico (TV Azteca) and Slovakia (TV Joj).
The word association game, which first launched on CBS in 1961, sees captains and contestants try to guess their teammates’ passwords with the help of one-word clues. The U.K. version will offer a cash prize in the final. It benefits from the presence of three eminent comic talents: Stephen Mangan as host and BAFTA winners Alan Carr and Daisy May Cooper as team captains.
The most recent U.S. version, starring Keke Palmer and Jimmy Fallon, launched last year on NBC and quickly became one of the network’s most popular shows. The U.K. version will have its own distinct flavor.

Spoiler alert: This article discusses “Too Hot to Handle” Season 2 in its entirety.
The second season of “Too Hot to Handle” was filled with just as many twists and Nsfw situations as the first, as our robot hero Lana worked to prevent as many islanders as possible from frivolous sex in order to find actual love.
Although the season finale revealed French model Marvin as the winner, there are still many burning questions after watching it. Luckily, creator Laura Gibson and executive producers Ros Coward and Amelia Brown chatted with Variety about some of the biggest burning questions about the second season.
What is the casting process like to get people with such high sex drives who are willing to talk about it all of the time?
Coward: We speak to about 1,000 people, and we’ve probably auditioned about 500 of them. So really, it’s reaching out to people that...

Hot Vax Summer is officially here, and with it is the return of one of the crown jewels of Netflix’s programming stable: the second season of “Too Hot to Handle.” The first season, which offered an escape during a very dark April 2020, started a social media sensation for Netflix, as viewers were locked into the “Love Island”-esque premise, with a big twist: Any kissing or sexual activity is banned and punished with a fine taken from a prize fund. The intention is to inspire these sex-driven, relationship-phobic singles to find themselves and actual relationships, but the true joy comes as they sneak around trying to escape the watchful eye of a rule enforcing robot named Lana.
With Season 2, the quarantined horndogs set sail to Turks and Caicos, where they were ready to party until the sobering words of Lana urged them to form relationships that go beyond the physical.

If you can't get enough of hot singles finding love in paradise, then Too Hot to Handle should be your next reality dating show binge-watch. Netflix’s hit new show Too Hot to Handle couldn’t have been better timed. The reality series takes ten hot young singles to a luxury retreat where they compete for $100,000. The twist is that they’re penalized for doing anything sexual. To the legions of viewers shut up in their homes without human contact of any kind (save for that which they can rhythmically apply themselves), watching these frustrated contestants grow ever thirstier is very easy to identify with.
Now, the show’s creator, Laura Gibson has revealed that Too Hot to Handle was actually influenced by an iconic episode of 90s sitcom Seinfeld, explaining to Entertainment Weekly that:
“They all had to not masturbate for money, and they all cave. I said, there’s gotta be a show in there.”
In “The Contest,” Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer host a contest in which the winner will be the last one to masturbate.

Amit Shah (The Courier), Sibongile Mlambo (Siren), Diana Bermudez (The Death and Life of John F. Donovan) and newcomer Sarah Catherine Hook are set as series regulars opposite Mike Vogel in ABC drama pilot Triangle, from Jon Harmon Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz’s Random Hill and ABC Studios.
Written by Feldman and Sonny Postiglione, Triangle poses the question, what if the Bermuda Triangle was not a watery grave in the middle of the ocean but a land lost in time that has trapped travelers over the course of human history? When a family is shipwrecked in this strange land, they must band together with a group of like-minded inhabitants — from throughout history — to survive and somehow find a way home.
Shah will play Dr. Owen Patel, another resident of the Triangle who has been here since 1988. Mlambo will portray Lieutenant Priscilla. Bermudez is Tama. Hook portrays Natalie.
Feldman, Gwartz and Postiglione executive produce.

Eighteen years since SeaChange ended its 39-episodes run on the ABC, Sigrid Thornton and John Howard will be back on screen in 2019 in a contemporary version of the show created by Andrew Knight and Deborah Cox.
The Nine Network has commissioned eight one hour episodes as a co-production between ITV Studios Australia and Every Cloud Productions. Shooting starts next year with Every Cloud’s Cox and Fiona Eagger as executive producers alongside Thornton and ITV’s David Mott. ITV owns the format to the show which was produced by Artist Services for the ABC.
Twenty years on, Laura Gibson (Thornton) returns to the beachside paradise of Pearl Bay and this time it seems Pearl Bay needs Laura just as much as she needs it. Howard reprises his role as Bob Jelly, who was the mayor in the original.
