Not all fairy tales have a happy ending. Neither do all the fairy tales have a smooth start. Be it Cinderella or someone else. But it can’t take away the fact that fairy tales, no matter how short or long, are made up of kings and queens. One such king was Sidharth Shukla, a star who turned into the biggest of the stars. His achievements over time started looking small for the personality he shared and the love he commanded.
Sidharth started his career on TV in 2008. Not many know, but he even turned into Aditya Kashyap from Jab We Met for a version of the film, which was rehashed on Indian Television. However, luck favored him much later.

For those who may not be aware, the Income Tax Department seized around ₹350 crore of ‘black money’ and about 3 kg of gold ornaments during a series of raids on distilleries in Odisha, which is said to be the largest amount ever recovered by any agency during a single investigation in India.

In today’s new resurgent India, where people wear their political identity on their sleeves, TV news anchors and party spokespersons are the new rabble rousers. They are the gladiators of the TV screen, the champions of social media and fighters of the trolls.
Where reality melts into fantasy is difficult to say, but in the guise of nightly debates on screens of all sizes, these men and women shout, scream and spew venom without batting an eyelid. Where does one search for fake news and when is the entire narrative make-believe!
Polarisation is inevitable when rival players are busy round the clock squeezing every second out of a billion-plus attention-deficit minds. In the last 10 years the political debate has become louder, shriller, inane and polarised. There is no truth involved. Rhetoric is the currency of political communication nowadays.

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 1 (Ians) A piquant situation has arisen with there being speculation whether in this age of modern medical science, two-time Kerala Congress Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is now waiting for faith healing to take place for his throat cancer which is in an advanced stage.
In Christian theology, the gift of healing is among the spiritual gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12 of the Holy Bible which says, “As an extraordinary charisma, gifts of healing are supernatural enablements given to a believer to minister various kinds of healing and restoration to individuals through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
And to those not familiar with the Bible and faith healing, in simple terms it means that those under faith healing will not take medicines, instead they will wait for God to act.

New Delhi, Dec 21 (Ians) After the Congress started questioning Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s letters addressed to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday, the minister said that it is his duty to ensure that Covid doesn’t spread in the country.
“It is my duty to ensure that Covid doesn’t spread in the country. If someone thinks how can a minister question them, then what can we do about their mindset? Questioning me on this is like obstructing me from doing my duty”, Mandaviya told the media.
He said that several people who joined Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra have tested positive for Covid, alleging that the Congress is unnecessarily making his letter a political issue.

Pm Narendra Modi
Starring Viveik Oberoi, Manoj Joshi, Suresh Oberoi
Directed by Omung Kumar
This is not the Narendra Modi bio-pic that we’ve all been waiting for. The one that shows this powerful well-meaning sincere statesman taking hard decisions and taking on opponents like a lion in a jungle of craven wolves.
No. This is not even a bio-pic. It is mythological saga, a passionate puranic paean to the powerful prime minister who took his tea-selling childhood to a glorious Himalayan summit beyond ‘Chai-na’. Seen in that dazzling hagiographic light this film is not so offensive.
Viveik Oberoi handles the principal role with a certain amount of flair and decency. His eyes speak more than a thousand words. Lamentably this is a film that believes in the power of verbal lamp-posts. Every self-glorifying thought that this celluloid holographic Modi feels must have a verbal counterpoint. Every rhetoric and retort...

CinemaDespite the poor performances of these biopics, filmmakers are still hopeful that their audience will be receptive.Srivathsan NadadhurHelming a biopic of a political figure or a political film based on true events is no mean task. Unlike films based on real life sports, cinema, theatre and music idols, these projects pose a unique challenge, given much of the politician's life remains in the public domain. The scope for a surprise/unexplored element, as a result, is very less. And more often than not, recent films based on political figures have turned out to be excuses to whitewash their image and speak little of their follies. The reason and the timing behind these films too have been very questionable, coming as they do ahead of the legislative assembly and Lok Sabha elections. And we've had films aplenty in 2019 as proof. Be it The Accidental Prime Minister (based on Sanjay Baru's...

Taking to Twitter to post a photo of the meeting on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “I met film director P A Ranjith the man behind blockbuster films like Madras, Kabali and Kaala and actor Kalaiyarasan, in Delhi yesterday. We talked about politics, films and society. I enjoyed the interaction and look forward to continuing our dialogue.” Rahul Gandhi is dressed in a bluish white shirt while Ranjith is seen sporting a smart black polo tee. The smiling men were clicked shaking hands in what seems to be a garden in the background. Present along with them was actor Kalaiarasan, who acted in Ranjith’s Attakathi, Madras and Kabali. The actor received praise from several quarters for his role as Anbu in Madras. The critically acclaimed filmmaker has been vocal about politics, both on and off camera. While the filmmaker has directed only four films, he has taken the industry by storm with the socio-political commentary in his films. Presenting a subaltern perspective through his filmmaking and exploring the uncomfortable realm of caste politics, the director has been vocal in his stance against the Neet examinations, among other pressing issues, which has been a point of contention between the state and the Central government. The director’s fiery speech on the suicide of Anita, a Dalit girl who fought against the one size fits all entrance examinations for medical studies, went viral last year. Ranjith has become the envy of the film industry after making two films with Rajinikanth, a feat formerly achieved only by decade-old directors. Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with the director comes ahead of the former’s likely bid for the country’s top job in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Also read: It’s official! PoliticsUttam Kumar Reddy said that Ktr's challenge only reflected his arrogance.Tnm StaffAccepting the challenge of Telanagana It Minister KT Rama Rao, state Congress chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday announced that he and his wife and sitting legislator Padmavathi Reddy would retire from politics if the Congress did not come to power in next elections. However, he said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao must also announce that he, along with his son Rama Rao (Minister), daughter K Kavitha (MP) and nephew T Harish Rao (Minister) should retire from politics if Telangana Rashtra Samithi (Trs) loses the elections. Reddy told reporters that he is unconditionally accepting the challenge posed by Rama Rao. However, he said that the Chief Minister himself should make the announcement of retirement from politics of his entire family if Congress comes to power in Telangana. He said Rama Rao's challenge only reflected his arrogance and the power of arrogance has turned Trs leaders blind to the extent that they were not willing to see the sufferings of common people. No section of the society benefitted from the Trs regime during the last four years, and except for four members of just one family, no one gained from the formation of Telangana State, said Reddy. He was confident the Congress would win more than 70 seats in next elections, irrespective of whether they are held in December or next year. Uttam also lashed out at Ktr for ‘insulting’ the Gandhi family and the Congress, stating that, “Jawaharlal Nehru played a lead role in the country’s independence and shaped the nation after 1947 as country’s first Prime Minister. Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi have laid down their lives for the country. Congress president Rahul Gandhi is continuing the legacy and has been serving as member of Lok Sabha for a third term.” “You (Ktr) are a bachcha (child) in politics. What is your status to criticise national leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi?” Uttam asked. Ians inputs...
