Synopsis
All his life, people have told Rudy he’s not good enough, not smart enough, not big enough. But nothing can stop his impossible dream of playing football for Notre Dame. From the time he’s a young boy, Rudy (Sean Astin) is determined to join the Fighting Irish. But his blue collar family only laughs at his ambitions – they know Rudy will follow his father and brothers to the local steel mill. And, for four long years after high school, he does just that. But some dreams won’t die, as Rudy proves when he goes to heroic, occasionally hilarious, lengths to win admission to Notre Dame. Once there, he becomes a walk-on player, serving as little more than a human tackling dummy against the starting players. Bloodied but unbeaten, Rudy wins the respect of legendary coach Ara Parseghian and the other Irish players, who give him one shot at gridiron glory.

“Broadway owes the federal government another thank you note, because I think had they not come in and taken control of it, today would have been a nightmare,” a general manager on Broadway told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday.
(The first thank you note went to Sen. Chuck Schumer and other members of Congress who helped pass Shuttered Venue Operators Grant legislation, which gave Broadway productions up to $10 million to reopen.)
State regulators seized the Signature, a New York-based bank, on Sunday evening, in the wake of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse on Friday. The Silicon Valley Bank failure spooked clients at Signature Bank and led to a run on deposits Friday, The New York Times reported. Signature Bank,...

Park City ’07 Interview | Adam Bhala Lough: “I had a dream one night. I woke up and wrote it down. T
[Editors Note: indieWIRE is publishing two interviews daily with Sundance ’07 competition filmmakers through the end of the festival later this month. Directors with films screening in the four competition section were given the opportunity to participate in an email interview, and each was sent the same set of questions.]
Filmmaker Adam Bhala Lough brings his latest work to the Sundance Film Festival this year, entitled “Weapons.” The film follows a group of teenagers who become involved in a series of seemingly random killings over the course of a weekend. “A haunted hip-hop soundtrack drenches this insightful study of teenage character and value systems in a world where everyone seems to have a gun,” writes Sundance, “but the most dangerous weapon is the one unleashed by tender things broken inside innocent hearts.” Adam Bhala Lough other recent work includes Bomb the System, Farmhouse, and music videos for Mf Doom and Joe Strummer.
Please introduce yourself. What are some of your former jobs? Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?

Luke Goss has been cast as the villain in the Samuel L. Jackson-Eugene Levy starrer The Man for New Line Cinema. Les Mayfield is directing, and Rob Fried and Bill Strauss are producing. Penned by Jim Piddick and Margaret Oberman and rewritten by Steve Carpenter, the project is budgeted in the mid-$20 million range and starts production April 17. Kent Alterman, Michele Weiss and Keith Goldberg are overseeing for the studio. The British actor is best known to American audiences for playing Nomak, the villain in New Line's Blade 2.
