- Gene Fowler Jr. was born on May 27, 1917 in Denver, Colorado, USA. He was an editor and director, known for It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963), Rawhide (1959) and Hang 'Em High (1968). Academy Award winner for the documentary, Seeds of Destiny (1946), while on service with the U.S. Army Special Services in World War II.
