Thomas Menino, whose folksy manner and verbal gaffes belied his shrewd political tactics to govern as Boston's longest-serving mayor and one of its most beloved, died Thursday. He was 71. The first reviews for Darren Aronofsky's "Noah" are out and the reaction is unsurprisingly mixed. Preview audiences and film critics of various religious and secular backgrounds are divided over the film. Some of the most negative reviews have been interesting - praising aspects of the movie, yet also calling it the filmmaker's worst film.
One person who outright hates the film, though he admits he hasn't seen it yet, is former Fox News correspondent turned right-leaning media pundit Glenn Beck according to THR.
Talking to his ten million listeners Friday morning, Beck says "I haven't seen it nor will I, because it's a slap in the face" he said before reading out portions of a trade paper review. He goes on to say:

I am glad that it turns out that Caroline Kennedy is still looking for a job. Her brief but painful pursuit of a Senate seat was a bracing sort of soap opera, oddly raising politics to a level of personal angst and a public quest for identity. Now there’s a mini-movement to make her the ambassador to the Vatican, which, given the Kennedys’ place in the history of American Catholicism, is rather a nice touch. What’s more, ambassadorial appointments need not, or at least in the past never have had to, pass the experience test. There are always a number of ambassadorial slots that are just plums. One of Caroline’s aunts, Jean Smith, who had not previously held any sort of job, was a not unsuccessful ambassador to Ireland. Also, Caroline deserves to get something.
